Nice with one problem

We liked these dishes, but the soup bowls do not fit well in the dishwasher.

The salad plates, mugs and bowls are a bit small.

The dinner plates are huge but if only using the indented center they work fine. I've always bought curelle so the salad plates cups and bowls are much smaller. They are not flimsy and they will do because we are down sizing and they fit the small drawers perfectly.

They can chip

Got the blue striped set and darned if I didn’t chip one of the bowls. Wish I could buy replacements. To have to buy a whole set just to replace a bowl too expensive for me.

Don't be fooled by Melamine

Needed some additional dishes; loved the weight of melamine, but it MELTS in microwave. In a house with kids and spouses, EVERYTHING has to be dishwasher and microwave safe. Stick to the basics.

I really like this dinnerware set. They are durable and microwave and dishwasher safe. They were available at a good price.

Very decent for the money

We like the clean simple look. They feel nice while not too heavy. Packaging was great nothing broken though i was worries as box had shipping gashes. Dinged a star as a few of the plates had a tiny amount of something rough that was coated when they painted the plates. Hardly noticeable, i mention as some might find this horrible on their foodware. Bowls are deep and the coffee mugs have the right heft and shape to them. Plus if you break some of these plates youre not crying about a $200 replacement fee. No regrets would purchase again.

Great Everyday Dishes

We bought these to as closely match our good China dishes as possible. They are very nice. They are definitely not light weight. We've only had them a couple of months so far, but they do quite well in the dishwasher. Highly recommend.

great choice!

My aunt wished to buy me a set of dishes for my 40th bday. Originally she bought me a Mikasa set but the plates were so huge they didn't fit into my dishwasher properly. After looking around husband and I settled on this set. The gray edging has a clean edge look to it. The set is heavy enough to not break but not so heavy on the cupboard. I did chip a bowl already but thankfully my aunt bought 3 sets (instead of the 1 Mikasa set) so I have tonnes of extra bowls. I am surprised I have not chipped more plates as there have been incidents of banging plates against my granite counter tops while unloading the dishwasher and only the one casualty so far! The bowls are very deep, maybe a bit too much for cereal but they are then multi-functional-like small chip bowls, party dip bowls and popcorn bowls etc. Super happy with our choice.

Solid stuff!

The set is carefully packaged. I received it undamaged. The plates, bowls, mugs are solid, heavy with a retro look & feel rather than designer! I like this simple, elegant and minimalist designs. Tested in microwave. Food heats up properly without heating the plates, bowls, mugs. Pricey stuff. You could get less pricey and light weight but equally effective sets in Star Bazar, and in this days of slowdown, you would get them in almost 50% discounts.

Excellent value for money! Really like this set.

I was looking for a replacement dinnerware set as my farmhouse set was bought a good decade ago and was looking rather tatty, so it was time for it to go. After looking at many sets on here, from the pricier to the cheaper I was swayed by both the cafe-stripe design of this set, plus the many favourable reviews. The price I wasn’t too bothered about, but when I noticed the price I was rather delighted. I ordered happily having already experienced the quality of the Amazon Basics brand and awaited my orders arrival. My dinnerware set arrived extremely well packaged and there was not one casualty. Once all unpacked and inspected I washed out one of the cups and made a cup of tea. I know it may sound a bit daft but I find tea either tastes great in a cup or it doesn’t. To me, a lot seems dependant on the cup! I have special cups I use for tea and others for coffee. I like these cups. The pristine whiteness of the inner allows me to brew to the required colour and they are extremely comfortable to hold and not too heavy, nor too light. The plates are perfect for everyday dinners and the dip allows for the use of gravy when required. My first use of these plates was with a roast dinner, with Yorkshire puddings and masses of roasties, mash and gravy. I managed to get my rather large portions on these plates no problem. They wash easily and stack well in the drainer too. I haven’t used the side plates as yet but they are stacked happily in my cupboard ready for their first use. The cereal bowls were tested out with a chocolate Cheerios experience with lashings of ice cold milk. Nice bowls! Hold a lot and nice high sides so you can pile plenty in. I like the red/white cafe stripe design and overall this set is remarkable value for money and is ideal for established families, people moving into a new home and newlyweds etc. I really like the Amazon Basics brand. Ordered service for 16 ppl (4 sets) and am very happy with these. They arrived packaged really well so there were no chips cracks etc. Every piece was perfect. I bought these to replace my old everyday set and decided to use them for christmas dinner as well. I highly recommend these. I was confident in this purchase as i recently bought Amazon Basics t shirts and was quite pleased with quality/price. These are light weight dishes, only draw back is that i find the bowls to be a smidge small but it wont be an issue. I will buy these in near future for the kids.
