Definitely takes car of algae

Follow the instructions and your algae will be controlled. My waterfall looks great and I don't have any string algae or the gunky mossy looking algae. It took two or three applications to remove it all, but with regular treatments the pond stays algae free.

Does A Good Job

I am not sure how many gallons the pond is but it is larger than any I have seen in a personal residence. There are about 30 Koi (they breed like crazy), one turtle, two large frogs and 20 or so water lillies that call the pond home. In addition I have one submersible pump and two out of water pumps that provide plenty of circulation plus a waterfall. I love to go out and watch fish but there are times when the water is so cloudy and the pond has so much alage that I can not see a thing and just want to run away from the entire thing. I stated using the Algaefix about a year ago and it seemed to do the trick. Within a few days the alage was breaking away from the rocks and I scooped it right up. I applied a second treatment and my water started to clear up. By the third treatment half the alage had disappered and I could see the turtle when he was on the pond floor. It is costly and my algage is not 100% gone but I use Algaefix on a regular basis (each bottle lasts me 4 treatments and I use it once a week). So far no plants or animals have died and like I said the Koi are still breeding). The price is also great on Amazon as the two petstores in my area that sell the product charge $55 for the same size bottle.

Product works as advertised

Used 64 oz. bottle for approximately 20000 gallon pond. Pond was clouded with algae and contained koi. Treated the water and within 48 hrs the water was clear. Fish unaffected. This product works.

great stuff

I use this in my pond and it works really well at keeping the algae, down, when cleaning the rocks on the water fall after cleaning the rocks with a brush I will pour this, l spray it lightly on the rocks before turning the water fall back on. My water fall gets some sun so they get some some moss over the summer, then I add the rest of amount in waterfall this keeps most of the algae down. Does not hurt water plants and birds, well I have squirrels birds cats and what other critters of the night drinking out of the pond and does not seam to hurt them. I also have koi and gold fish in there and does not bother them either.

ONLY USE THIS WITH FILTRATION SYSTEM & AIR STONES

The media could not be loaded. This product can harm your fish if you dont have a filtration system or alot of air Circulation.. My fish were highly active swimming around pond until I added this. The moment I put this in my skimmer they Instantly went into shock and would not move for a couple of hours. Contact Poison control if inhaled, swallowed, skin or eyes but they recommend putting in in the water with your fish???? Most of time if it's not safe for Us then it's not safe for animals & can be toxic to fish. Just beware of what you use & only use half of recommend dose just to be safe.

Hands Down Best Product Ever!!!

I can tell you please ignore all of the negative reviews. This product is meant to be a preventative step in your pond maintenance routine not a miracle cure. Before this product I had tried nearly every product on the market to fix my cloudy nasty brown/green water. After just 2 treatments and a few small water changes my pond is clearer than it has EVER been. I can actually see the bottom of my pond again, I can see my fish again. I actually didn’t know if they were still alive, it had been well over a month since I’d seen them and after several failed attempts I’ve finally found a winner!!! I can’t stress this enough: FOLLOW THE DOSING TO AN EXACT SCIENCE!! You’d be better off using less than more but the closer you can calculate your pond size the better. This did not kill my fish, trapdoor snails, pond plants or my brand new tadpoles. If you overdose you could kill your fish!! Turn your waterfall up all the way and get an aeration device if you don’t already have one. You need to pump a serious amount of oxygen into your pond for 24hours after dosing to prevent possible fish kill. I used this product in tandem with API sludge removal and I think that was the magic combo for me. I haven’t treated my pond for about 2 weeks and it still looks fantastic!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

This product is awesome it really works

I was really struggling for a couple of months to control an algae bloom using natural barley straw type products as I didn't want to hurt my fish, turtle or plants but it was a losing battle after reading about algaefix and it claimed not to hurt fish and plants if used correctly I decided to give it a try. I saw results the day, after two weeks and 4 doses the algae is all dead and almost all gone, the sludge destroyer I bought with it has done a great job gobbling up the dead algae. It has not harmed my fish, turtle or plants. Great stuff, it works !
