Works for Tower Garden
I bought two of these 200 watt heaters for my Flex Tower Gardens, and they work great. Since they are preset heaters, I don't have to worry. But considering my Tower Gardens are in my basement for year round growing, I may have to upgrade do to the heater might be too small for a 20 gallon (75.71 l) tank at about 55-58 degrees Fahrenheit. I may eventually upgrade to pro heaters 300 watt considering, but my plants grew great.

Take the guess work out of heating your aquarium.
I have had aquariums all my life. This is super simple just plug it in and your ready. I use the 200 watt on my 90 gallon aquarium. It automatically sets the temperature to 78 degrees. Budget friendly, name brand and reliable.. My last one lasted over 7 years that one still works but it started to only hold the temperature at 75 degrees.

Nice little heater.
Love that it keeps water at same temperature at all times. My beta is happy!!

JCs review
This item did not do the job as it claimed. I had to send it back, because it was supposed to heat a 40 gallon tank and it didn’t even heat a 20 gallon tank. I was truly disappointed

Not consistent but works
I purchased two 100 W heaters for 20 gallon tanks and a 200 W heater for a 55 gallon tank. None get up to 78°, but they don’t get below 72 so I guess it works. The first couple of days were really inconsistent though, so be patient with them.

Works ok!
For being a name brand 100watt heater, it doesn't warm up the water in my turtles tank as well as my last one did. I ended up having to put the old in on the other side of the tank to keep the temp at 78 degrees. Bummer!

Perfect
It does exactly what it's intended to do. It does it perfectly too. Great product. I have 3 of these 100 watt heaters... since they're pre-set you don't have to toy around with thermometer.. 78 degrees is already perfect for ANY aquarium unless you're quarantining or breeding then you need 82 degrees. This heater has allowed me to worry about 1 less thing.. I don't need a sticker thermostat.. just touch the water and you will know it's warm. Oh and there's a light that turns on that let's you know it's on. Also, you can see you water warming up if you stare at the heater long enough. It hasn't harmed my plecos nor my shrimp. Plants are thriving at 78... floaters and planted in substrate. I'm telling you this is a great product !!!

Something to think about
As a follow up to my previous review. While the heater is fine and the preset leaves some worry out it being turned down/up by accident - BUT, I wasn't even thinking about this issue at the time as I'm sure a lot of people aren't, I had an Ich breakout in my tank a few days ago. Can't/don't want to use the numerous chemical treatments or the salt method as i have a few scale less fish. One a Zebra Pleco which is a fairly expensive fish . Plus I have a fully planted tank. So, the only other (and the most effective way) is to turn the heat up. Can't do that with this. Sooo today I had to go out and spend another 40.00 on an adjustable heater. Most aquarists will have a disease go through their tank at sometime and Ich is the easiest one to cure, IF you can turn the heat up.

Amazing
I was shocked about how good this item is. When it first came, I thought it would overheat my tank, but I had to give it a try. So when I placed the heater in, the suction was pretty secure! I was surprised by this, because lots of heaters' suction power does not stick well. It gets better and better! I turned on the heater and I saw the red light. I waited for a few more minutes and the light went down. At first, I thought I didn't plug the cable well, but after a while, I realized it was actually controlling the temperature in the tank. Amazing! It turned on and off, on and off. Then I checked the temperature in the tank. It was perfect! Overall, this heater is a solid 5 star!

My second review for this heater
I made the mistake of not researching this heater before purchasing and leaving a poor review. Turns out that this heater doesn't necessarily heat up to 78°F, it is designed to heat exactly 5°F above "room temperature". However, it assumes your room is exactly 73°F. My room temp is a few degrees lower than 73° so this heater would only ever get my tank temp up to 77.0°F max. If you NEED it to be 78°F, you're better off getting a heater with an adjustable temperature dial. This one won't magically know where 78° is.

Highly Recommend!
This Aqueon heater is great. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to maintain their tank water at 78°F. I have the 100W heater in my 20 gallon long tank, and the 50W one in my 5 gallon tank. They are sufficient enough that the temperature in either tank never drops below 77.9°F. Keep in mind that the ambient room temperature impacts the effectiveness of the heater, so choose the wattage wisely. During the summer, the heaters in my tanks never turn on because the tanks hover between 80-81°F.
