High quality boots, very comfortable.

No longer sized like before...

When I walk in them they're OK but when riding they rub my Achilles tendon. I'm ending up repositioning my feet to avoid the pain. I wanted the better insole than my previous Ariat boot I'd had for years and loved. But have to return these. Talked to my trainer and she agreed I'm not the only person who expressed disappointment they've changed their sizing.

Good only if you have *very skinny ankles*

These are good quality and I do wear them except I can’t zip them all the way up. You literally must have stick ankles to be able to zip these to the top. I am a petite person and really don’t have this issue with other boots shoes. Wish I would have bought lace up boots.

Wished they would have fit. Loved the boot.

Foot fit great, but could only zip the front zipper up 1/2 way. Never owned a pair of boots with a front zipper. They didn't seem contoured to the curve of my ankle and leg. Otherwise, I loved the boot. Wish they would have worked out.

Feels good the moment you put it on

I seem to be getting foot pain regularly now, and decided to try these shoes based on reviews. They do not disappoint. The moment you put them on, you can feel the quality cushioning and shock absorbing, the to box is just right where all along the boot your foot is supported, but not squeezed. This is clearly full grain leather and clearly superiorly designed and constructed. I'm shocked I've never heard of this brand before.

Not as good as my Ariat paddocks from 5 yrs ago.

The toe box, width and fit are perfect for me. Size 11. The quality is not what it used to be. I wore these for two horseback riding lessons and the toe already peeled. Not just scuffed but leather is beginning to peel off in one spot on one boot. For the fit and for once a week use they will be fine for me. Very comfortable right out of the box. Not really worth the price but they are the only brand that fit my feet properly. I like the zipper for ease of putting them on and off. Since my feet are happy, I am happy.

Blessed relief for my feet

I am extremely happy with this ankle boot. I had been looking for a black stylish boot, low heeled but not ugly and chunky. For 3 months, I combed shoestores, online sites, stopped people on the street, etc. My friend was going to the stable and showed me these, her paddock boots. Eureka! I have troublesome feet and most shoes hurt. I got these in a 7.5w and they fit like a dream. They look great with jeans and also with dresses. And, I imagine, with horses. What a well kept fashion secret you have! My only problem is w customer service. I mistakenly ordered 2 of this item. Identical. I contacted the seller w/i 15 minutes of ordering and asked them to cancel one order. They said no!! I was shocked that they were just so bluntly unhelpful. I am able to return it but I think they are charging me shipping. So, unhappy with the vendor but love the boot.

These must be 'seconds'

I am aware that Ariat has changed the design of these recently. This is the fourth pair I've had and these are different. If you check the Ariat webpage they clearly changed the design, for the worse in my opinion. Gone is the double seam at the toe, which makes the boots look flimsier and cheaper. The fit of this pair is okay, maybe a bit snugger than past pairs. The issue with this pair is the seam along the toe on the right boot goes off towards the toe, making the seam look crooked. The whole boot looks crooked. The fit is okay but it looks bad. So I guess if you can accept visual flaws these might be worth the reduced price (the Ariat website is selling them much higher in price). The problem is, with seconds, you never know what you're going to get. I will live with my wonky right foot, but I've learned my lesson.

Disappointed not the quality they use to be

I’ve warn these boot for years and wear them every day for around 8 hours and go through a fair few pairs in a year. I’ve been very disappointed with the last few pairs I’ve had as the quality and fit aren’t as good as they use to be and have been looking for alternatives.

Excellent boots for riding, and for daily life!

I have been using Ariat jodhpur boots for years now, because of: 1) The soles: which give amazing arch support. These boots are so comfortable that I often wear them all day, not just for riding! 2) The shape: they also really support your ankles! (A godsend if you have back trouble) 3) The design: A classic, traditional and smart jodhpur boot, suitable for all disciplines and built for all-season use. Bonus: unless you actually stand for an extended time in a deep puddle, they keep your feet DRY too! The key to WARMTH is which socks you wear with them... BUT PLEASE NOTE: A) These boots do take a bit of breaking in: for me, they were supple and comfortable by the end of the first week. I start by painting them with neatsfoot oil, letting that soak in overnight, and then cleaning and treating them regularly (at least 2x per week) with leather balsam for 1st month while using them regularly to get them soft. Basically, treating them like any other new piece of tack. B) Depending on how much you ride, they will have an accordingly limited lifespan. If riding multiple horses every day, I expect them to last, at best, two winters; longer, if I’m riding less often than that. The better you look after them, the longer they will last. Loading them regularly with leather balsam and neatsfoot oil will help prevent cracking. But despite the fact that they will, inevitably, die one day - you would need to go a long way to find a better engineered jodhpur boot at this price. On price: if you buy jodhpur boots, you can then buy different Half Chaps to suit different seasons /occasions (eg summer, winter, hacking, smart). I put most of my budget into the boots, then get a variety of cheaper half chaps for different jobs. Overall, I think I get better value from this, riding all year round, than from just one pair of long boots.

Very happy!

Great boot. I am replacing my old lace up Ariats, and am glad I got these. I dozed up half a size and they fit well. Tight in the ankle but that’s what I want, I like some ankle support.
