The top of the boot is narrow
I guess the opening of the boot isn't standard in Ariat based on shoe size? I've owned other Ariat boots but these things are really small at the opening.. It's hard to get my foot in to make the slip into the lower part of the boot.. and it rubs my calves so I have to wear an over the calf sock or I get friction burns from the top of the boot.. I really don't understand why they would do this. I kinda feel like I got duped.

Perfect!
I have a hard time getting my foot into most western style boots, so I wasn't sure about these. But they fit perfectly. I can get them on and off with little difficulty, and they are all day comfortable so far. I've only had them for about a week, but so far I love them. Comfortable great looking and the tread and non slip worked great on ice and snow from the resent storms. I can't comment on the long term, but they are great right outta the box...

Durable!
Husband’s favorite work boots. He had a pair from several years that finally stated coming apart. He’s rough on boots. Wears them day in and day out. Usually do good to get a year out of a pair but his first pair of these lasted several years. Tried to find some again now that those wore out. Could not find them in a store again. Luckily found them on Amazon for him.

Best boots I have ever owned.
It’s been a couple months and I am well pleased with these boots. They are definitely waterproof. The soles have good grip on a variety of surfaces: even big granite boulders I went over when I was hunting. Working 12hrs in variable terrain is no problem. Like all cowboy boots, they were snug for a couple days; but after break-in, they are the most comfortable footwear I have owned. The footbed could use more cushion; but that is a stretch to make a complaint about because they still feel very good.

Nice work boots
This is nice work boot. Fit was a little looser than expected. So I put in Ariat Men's ATS Round Toe Footbeds. Took up the space and fit pretty good. Now we see how well they last.

Becoming my favorite boot.
I ride a motorcycle an hour each way to work every day. After getting caught in the rain a few times, I soon took to wearing boots as my primary footwear. I needed high boots and hate all that lacing, I found western boots suited me well. Some brands did not feel right for me from the start, but I did find a few pairs of other brands that I liked. Yet, once I got my first pair of Ariats, I was sold. They have been the best fit and comfort for me. After several years of wearing Ariat western boots, I decided that I would look into waterproof boots. I also wanted to try boots with a lower heel as I have wondered if some of my back problems might be aggravated by the higher heel in some western boots. So, I decided to try the Ariat Workhog. The fit seemed perfect when I first put them on. However, the boots quickly loosened up as they broke in. After reading some of the reviews, I became a bit concerned that they would become TOO loose. Part of the deal here is that they are NOT western boots. They are more like engineer style boots. The high heal of western boots shoves your foot into the toe, giving you that snug feel. It had been a long time since I wore engineer boots, but recalled how they had a little "swim" to them. I have been growing to like this feel, and they are not getting TOO loose...not even close to causing any rubbing, irritation or even hinting at blisters that I had experienced with engineer boots years ago. These boots are a LOT warmer than my western boots (riding in single digit temps this year) and I found they actually stay warmer with one pair of socks than two! I think these are my new favorite boot, and I am likely to get another pair in another color.

The quality product you would expect from Ariat. True to size. Comfortable right out of the box. Courier misplaced my package, I contacted the vendor and they had a new package shipped from south Carolina to Alberta in a day and a half. Premium service from an excellent vendor.
