Should have ordered the largest
Someone mentioned they use the medium sized one of these for rice. So I ordered that size. But I am thinking the largest size was really the way to go because the medium sized one served up maybe a half cup of rice at most. My needs aren’t for a bougie restaurant serving. It’s to feed an Asian household where rice is the meal. I’ve had rice served up in Balinese and Thai restaurants in this shape. It does make for a beautiful presentation. But yeah—they had to of been using the large pyramid mold of these when we ate abroad. Else there would have been a lot of unhappy customers demanding refills on rice.

Good quality. Not for precision casting.
• I use these for resin casting. • The "Ateco" logo is on the outside of the mold — it will not effect your molding material. • There is one "rough welded edge" in each mold. The other 3 edges are smooth, ever-so-slightly-rounded, with 1 edge being more rounded than the other 2. • Edge 1: slightly rounded, Edge 2 & 3: less slightly rounded, Edge 4: sharp, rough, weld marks. I ordered 2 sets of the large pyramids. 1 pyramid from each set had very pronounced, poor welds as well as fairly deep scratches throughout the mold. I kept the molds with the smallest welds and fewest scratches and returned the others as defective. I suggest you do the same, as the quality control seems to vary quite significantly.

Step up your food plating game - rice presentation
Great way for a home chef to give a high-end restaurant plating of rice. Who wants to see a blob of rice on a plate - was inspired after I started packing rice into a high-ball glass and then emptying onto plate - the rice holds its form - and was pleasantly surprised after thinking a rice pyramid would be cool that a mild actually existed. I originally ordered the larger size and returned it w/o trying it - but now wondering if I need both as the M size serving is sufficient, and prolly the healthiest size serving, but I do love jasmine rice. I know - may be OTT, but would be fun to have a S, M, and L size and create a Giza plateau plating.

Used for orgone with success
Yea this can work for resin with a couple considerations. Even with mold release agent, its tough to remove from mold. Heating the metal will help release it. I left it in the sun and on a hot rock so there was heat from all sides. There is one side where the weld will show. This can be remedied with some very fine 1000 grit sandpaper. Great proportions and quality metal mold for the price.

Made Some Bath Bombs
The media could not be loaded. I got these to make some homemade bath bombs.... Please see video for complete review... These were very useful and produce a good product. Although these were a larger size, I like to give my clients this option. They have not rusted and were slick inside to make the bombs. They will take a little over stuffing as well to pack them nice and tight. Takes a little practice at first to get the seams right... I will disclose that I am a very honest and unbiased reviewer. Stainless Steel Rum Baba Mold Set
These are made of good material and I think they'll last a long time. Unfortunately, they didn't work for my bright idea but I will be using them for other things. I put them in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes and they held up well, no discoloration and still shiny. A negative for me is that they were very hot coming out of the oven and I wanted to dump out the contents on a plate but they are slippery and with no handle or lip to grab hold of I kept dropping them out of the potholder. I do think they are a bit over priced.

Tall- not great for bouchons
Not fair to give them 3 stars since I didn't use them for their advertised purpose. They are really pretty and durable- so I'll give them 4 stars. But 3 for what I intended: Bought these to make chocolate bouchons- first attempt- these are too tall. Couldn't get the mix to the bottom, so they weren't flat and ended up top heavy. Boo. Used popover tin instead- perfect, cheaper. I'll try making some baba in these sometime... Report back once those are done....

First Time
I have never made Baba Rhum cakes before ordering these molds. I took on a dare from my girlfriend and did very good in creating them. She loved them. They are easy to use.

Good quality stainless steel pyramid molds
The quality of this stainless steel pyramid mold is very good. Sometimes the inside edges have a bit of extra metal so the company needs to ensure that it is smooth on the inside. I notified the seller and was promptly offered an exchange for two new ones. They work very well with resin.

Hard to bend which is great for any project
The first mold I received had a scratch inside but Ateco sent me a new one within 2 days. The mold is thick and strong. Hard to bend which is great for any project. Also it is highly polished aiding in project removal and leaves a nice finish on your projects. Thank you very much. I will definitely come back here for future projects.

Great sturdy pyramid
This is sturdy, metal is strong and smooth, tip is completely sealed so no leaks or sharp edges. Very happy with this and recommend it. I used it for making orgonite. Just make sure you spray the inside if using resin. Keeps everything smooth and comes out clean
