Great model train for beginners

The media could not be loaded. My 11-year-old son recently got into model trains. That's all he asked for this year for Christmas. I got this set as a base and we added tracks and other Bachmann cars. First off, this set is quick. I expected it to be a little slower because it's made for kids, but I don't think it is. Second, it's still new but the cars glide over the track (both included and purchased separately) smoothly. Every once in awhile, you might need to readjust the car back on the track. Third, it's just plain fun. But you definitely want to consider adding a couple of track pieces. Right out of the box, it only goes in a small circle. We added a couple of straight pieces and some curves when we moved it down to the basement and it's a much bigger track. We've had so much fun with this model train set. This is a great starter set for a younger child looking to get into model railroading. It's more affordable than purchasing tracks, controller, and cars individually, it's easy to use, and it's Thomas. Who doesn't love Thomas?

Damaged and overpriced item

Item came damaged and is way over priced the siderods bent inward causing the engine to jam. I fixed this by having to forcefully bend it in place it is shows and affects the model.

Very good model train to start your model railway!

I loved this item! The set was easy to assemble, easy to disassemble, and overall fun! The only problem I had was that the eyes don’t move, and the thing that could be better is if Thomas could climb hills.

my grandson loves it !!!

It came ALOT later than promised - and I had actually cancelled my order. Of course, it showed the next day - BUT my grandson is ecstatic -and I am very happy to have this set. Glad it is is HO so we can add many tracks and engines of any kind. I highly recommend it - just be patient i guess with delivery.

My child loves this

Honestly this train is way over priced, it’s a basic circle track, the train is small and Thomas’s eyes do move but that’s it, no bells no whistles. But ....my son loves it. It would be better if it included a few figures like sir topem hat or some scenery to justify the price

Not worth the price

Thomas face doesnt stay on well and we had to glue it on so it didn't get lost. James front piece broke very easy. Track masters are better if it's for your kids.

Must have set
