Cute bag, uncomfortable straps

The design of the bag is cute, but the straps are short, thin and made of an uncomfortable, plastic feeling faux leather (i'm guessing). I'm worried about it rubbing and ruining the sleeves of some of my more delicate blouses and clothing, so it might be better used as a summer bag on bare arms or with a durable coat in winter, if one must.
