Good addition

This is a good addition for a little shop or DIYers. Backs up well, fits perfectly with the Bora base. The only thing is that it isn't be sealed so it can't get wet. Spilled some water on mine and it stained the top. Not enough water to damage it though. I was lucky I caught it in time.

Table Top

I decided to try BORA’s folding table top and it certainly meets the design requirements. However, I’m 70 and it’s heavy to handle and you must be careful when folding it. The best way to open it is like a book, with the hinges to your left or right. This way you can control it and avoid possible damage to the hinges or fingers. It’s very sturdy and is easy to secure to the BORA legs. I was using a 4x4 piece of half inch plywood which works well too, but spent the money to buy their table top. It’s more expensive than it should be IMHO, but I like the idea of folding for portability. If I was still working in the field, I wouldn’t buy it.

Very heavy- not very portable

I purchased this top with the Bora Centipede Support 6S. The top is made of a high density fiber board and is very heavy and difficult to handle. It is 2’ x 4’ and hinged in the middle. It is definitely not very portable which makes it not well suited as a top for the 6S leg set. Also, be careful when folding the top, it is easy to get a finger caught between the two hinged panels. I am disappointed that Bora couldn’t design a much lighter more portable top.

Heavy

The Bora centipede system is a great concept however, in order to get the right size to fit your table you may have to buy multiple of these folding table tops, the unfortunate part is that you cannot connect all sides to your centipede stand because there is not enough mounting points, thus not allowing additional tops to be completely fastened down. It makes high/Lows at every joint where each additional table top meet and does not provide a nice flat surface. Its a good start but needs refinement.

Love this product

Very much liked this addition to the Bora Centipede framework. Tried this first side to be sure it was sturdy, will be ordering another for the second half of my framework.

Depends on centipede model.

If you bought anything more than the 2x4 centipede a half sheet of ply works just fine. Notes: - I bought the 4x6 centipede with one of these tops to see if shelling out another $150 was worth it - Assembly/Disassembly takes about five minutes - if you’re tight on space it’s worth it but if you can keep a half sheet of ply somewhere it does the same trick - carrying handle and a space saving hinge are the only things that make it worth it. -bought an 18mm ply sheet and ripped it down (on the centipede) to supplement the 2x4 section and I’m a happy camper

Good idea but not worth it

Cool concept but not worth it. A set of horses and piece of plywood does the trick. The wood table seems like it would fall apart if it ever got wet.

Poorly designed tabletops

Bought these for the centipede table that I gave as a Christmas gift but ordered the tabletops for a birthday gift. By the time they were opened as the birthday gift it was past the return window time. They did not fit properly on the centipede table. Now we have two tabletops and two storage bags that can’t be returned. The centipede table works fine. The tabletops are poorly designed.

Attachment handles are challenging

Like it overall. I find attaching the top to the base a bit tricky as it’s hard to get my hands in to turn the handles.

Emits a strong VOC smell

Returned this product because it emits a very large amount of VOC off-gassing. This is likely formaldehyde being released from the low quality MDF used for the panels. Even after a week out of the box, it was still strong enough to make it difficult to be in the same room with it. The product is probably fine for use outdoors, but would not recommend it if you plan to use it indoors. In addition, although the product is very sturdy, it's quite awkward to setup due to its heavy 27.5 lb weight.
