Medium weight pans

I always use paper in my pans so I can't speak for that but these are nice, well-made cake pans. I also have the sheet pan that matches. They are a medium weight and should last a long time.

My baker wife loves these pans!

Initially, my wife wasn't sure about these pans when they arrived. She thought the grooves on the bottom would be difficult to clean, even if parchment paper was put on top. She baked some European sponge cakes in these, and they came out evenly baked and golden brown. Since then, she has used these to bake a variety of cakes, even cheesecakes. Each time has been a success. Cleaning them is very simple. Some hot water and a paper towel does the trick if they aren't too caked with batter. If not, a bit of warm water, small amount of soap and a soft sponge takes care of it. These pans have held up well so far, and she's used them dozens of times!

Excellent quality, heavyweight pans

I had been meaning for a long time to get a set of matching cake pans. The only thing that matched on mine, was they were were both the same size. The brands were different, one was older than the other, and cake making was a depressing business. I was somewhat concerned to get cake pans without loose bottoms - I’ve always had those in the past, for fear i might not be able to successfully remove a cake. These are great though! It must be the dimpled bottoms that make them so successful. If you let them cool in their tins, your cakes should come right out. And these are built to last, very solid, much sturdier than my old 2 mismatched pans. As others have said, with space being at a premium, I’d have liked them to be stackable, and these are causing problems in my pots and pans closet, but i don’’t really care, when i no longer need to worry that my cakes will stick. I made carrot cake, and instead of doing one big one, i did 2 layers in these new pans, i greased and floured my tins, laid a circle of parchment paper on the bases, and allowed them to cool in their tins for a few minutes before turning out onto a rack. There was no sticking at all. I’m super impressed with the performance of these cake pans. I’ve thrown my mismatched ones away.

Chicago Metallic Aluminum Round Cake Pans, 9-Inch, Set of 2, Silver

These are very nice sturdy pans. I have baked cinnamon rolls, biscuits, and a cake in these pans and they all came out perfectly cooked and were easy to clean. The only thing I don't like is they don't stack. I like for my pans to fit in each other to save space, these pans are too big for that and take up more space than I like but all in all, they are nice pans and hopefully will last longer than my previous pans.

Top quality pans

This set of 2 Chicago Metallic Aluminum cake pans are terrific. They have a textured bottom which helps the food not to stick. It also helps with cooking evenly. These pans are a bit deeper and the rolled edge is very easy to grip. They are heavy duty and clean up easily. The cakes did have a thin layer that stuck to the center bottom of the pan. That is common even with greasing and flouring the pan. It came off easily. The corners and sides came out clean. I greased the pans with vegetable oil and spread with a silicone brush. I didn’t flour the pan. The cakes came right out of the pan after sitting for 10 minutes after removing from the oven. The cakes cooked in the minimum amount of time stated on the cake mix box. They were beautifully even. These are wonderful pans and a pleasure to bake in. I didn’t add pictures as they would have been just like others in the reviews.

Baking excellence

I bake daily as a result I've amassed dozens of pans with fatdaddios being my favorite. But now a new pan has been crowned queen with these Chicago Metallic aluminum pans. Cakes bake and rise evenly without a conductor pin and with a wax sheet or nonstick spray they release quickly with minimal crumb. I put these to the ultimate test: releasing cakes from pans I'd placed in the fridge for a quick cool down and it passed easily. Cakes slid right out. Great all around. Will definitely buy more

Nice but not that anti-stick

I always make a layered cake to celebrate birthdays in my house. Although there was nothing wrong with our current cake pans, I often get some sticking if using a baking spray. I was curious if the textured bottoms on these would really prevent sticking. Results: The cake was somewhat easier to remove as the pan pulled away from the sides of the cake more as it cooled. The bottom still had some sticking issues. The pans feel sturdy and are well made. I will probably keep these instead of our old pans because they are taller so they could be used in more ways (including a thick single layer cake).

great size and works well

I ordered the Chicago Metallic Aluminum Round Cake Pans for baking cakes and they are just as I expected. I have a couple other items from this brand and very happy with the quality of them all. The size of these tins is ideal for many cake recipes so the batter fit perfectly, or you may use both for a tiered cake, so it is very convenient to have two in the pack. The bake was even and very good and it was easy to get out of the tin. No issues with cleaning the tins either and I like that they are dishwasher safe. All in all a great set at a very reasonable price. I hope you find this review helpful.
