My new favorite shorts.

The pockets are shallow, they run a bit small (2 sizes for me), and they are expensive. But everything else I love. I wore these on a month long vacation and found myself grabbing the five pair of these I brought over all the rest. Nice and cool. Dries quick. Doesn’t stink. The zippered pockets are my favorite. Hopefully they hold up well because I’m going to buy ten more.

Versatile summer shorts

The material is a THIN rip-stop nylon. Maybe a bit thinner than anticipated. Size .. got a 36", same as I have ordered for other similar shorts, notably O'Briens or Hang Ten, and these run small in the waist and seat. There is a bit of elastic in the waist which is helpful. They have that 'low rise', so while the inseam is 12" (or 10"), you have to undo these the you hit the urinal, as some have pointed out. The nylon zipper seems solid and is smooth. The 12" hit just below my knees. (I'm 5'9) The 2 side pockets, as some have also said, are only 5-6" deep. I do like the extra cargo style pockets on the legs. There is a zippered pocket on the left that is great for a cell phone or your wallet and a velcro flap pocket on the right. All that said .. I just ordered another pair in a different color. These look good enough to wear almost anywhere, cool on hot days and can go directly into the water if you're at the lake or beach and will dry quickly. Would be great for packing when you're traveling light.

My favorite shorts

These shorts are my "uniform" most of the year(except on days below 50 degrees).They fit well,are lightweight,machine washable(don't stain easily either)and come in multiple colors.They are great for hiking or just wearing around town and at home.Lots of nice deep pockets.Don't have any issues with things like a wallet or keys falling out.Even has one zippered pocket.Comfortable adjustable belt.Fabric dries quickly and they don't chafe which makes these shorts a good choice for hiking.

Durable in extreme hiking conditions and comfortable to wear during a city life

If you match a size (I do it in my your local country store) then this shorts are very lightweight and comfortable, I already have 3 pairs and waiting a blue color to come up, I ve used many hiking for hikes and for casual purposes but this one (even though I got a longer version) beats every short I ever had It is very breathable in hot summer, dries quickly like a swim suit, looks classy and is very durable during hiking, I climbed rocks, fell on sharp stones with my butt, crawled drunk like animal in streets (this is a bit sad to be honest) but not even a scratch still looks like new

Great shorts--lightweight, quick drying, good sized pockets, but a few design flaws

These shorts have some great aspects. They are lightweight and quick drying. The pockets are a good size. The waistband has some give, but they should have more. They are comfortable while standing, but they get too tight when I sit down. The right cargo pocket has two design flaws. First, it's rotated around so far to the right that you end up sitting on whatever is in it. Second, it's got this oddly placed single Velcro closure; it's only on the left side of the pocket flap and doesn't keep it shut. It's too small and it's only on one side. There should be two and a bit larger, one on each side of the flap or, if you have to have only one, then it should be in the middle and be much bigger. Having said all that, these are still the best cargo shorts I've found. I had gotten some other cargo shorts from Duluth Trading that I liked a couple years ago, but they changed the design and the color choices so now they don't come in black, really show sweat badly, and aren't really quick drying. The original design of those shorts was better than their new one, but these Columbia shorts are much lighter and quicker drying (and cost less). I have looked around at a bunch of other shorts and can't find any better than these Columbia shorts.

Great fit!

Got these for my husband for vacation. He says they feel so light and comfortable. They packed super well because they’re so thin and they weren’t all wrinkled. The style is so nice he could wear them on excursions or for a nice dinner.

Great shorts

I love these shorts for hiking or just running around. They are perfect for warm weather hiking, with several pockets for keys, phone, etc. I've worn them for several years and the only reason I give them 4 stars is that after 2 or 3 years the zipper has failed (damaged teeth) on 2 of my 4 purchased pairs. Other than that, love these shorts.

Great pair of shorts

Bought as a present, the shorts look and feel good. They are made from a thin material which is what you are looking for in a pair of shorts. I cannot comment on the durability however they do look well made and i have a columbia ski jacket that is over 10 years old so expect these to last.

Great Shorts. Lightweight, Comfortable and Durable

These are great shorts for an outdoor lifestyle. Ordered these for the summer to walk the dog, for family outings and to generally lounge around in. They are so comfortable, lightweight yet warm, quick drying, durable and with plenty of versatile pocket storage. Loved them so much, I bought another 2 pairs in other colours. Without doubt, these Columbia shorts are up there with the best.

The silver ridge range are lightweight fast drying kit. Shorts are good fit. Not too loose or fitted. Good security features & a free belt - which are pretty good. Only issue is the rustle. Prepare to make a racket with each step or breeze.
