Good, but snug

If you get these two put roughly 8 1/2 to 9 lb of grain in for a 5 gallon batch of beer, you will find that they are just a hair small. You can, in fact, tie them closed, but you will wish that you had looked for something just a bit larger. That having been said, they are fit for purpose. Just remember to have your first homebrew after you get the grain into the bag.

Used for Fruits with Mead

I use these to hold onto fruit for mead making. I took the bag and soaked it in some Star San, then wrung it out and filled it with fruit. My first test batch with it was 2 1/2lbs of blackberries. The material was strong enough to hold all the fruit in without ripping and the size was plenty big to add quite a bit more if I wanted to. I'm hoping this helps with removing the larger sediment as straining it after the fact can be annoying. Time will tell. I've never used these bags before and I was hoping they would be a little bit tighter, but I think it will serve its purpose well for large pieces. I expected some finer sediment to make it through regardless. I will update review if necessary.

4 out of 5 bags were unusable.

Received 5 grain steeping bags. Four were ripped along the side (the entire length of the bag) and were unusable.

Nice long tubes of muslin material can be cut to make many bags.

I like these bags for use when transfering from my mash tun to brew kettle. I can make lots of disposable bags simply by tying a knot and cutting to size. About 5 or six inches works well for me.

Great product

I don’t know how anyone could say these are bad. They’re perfect for my dry hopping needs and 5-10 gallon extract brewing grain bags. My local brew supply gives you smaller for the same price so why not have some breathing room on you grain steep. Will be buying again

Great quality steeping bags

These are very good quality steeping bags! I am still using my first bag and have brewed three batches of beer with it! I have seen bags shred and fall apart after one use but I can say that these are great quality and I expect them to hold up for several uses each!
