Definitely worth the purchase

For someone like me that works in the field this handy extension work great for squaring off 2x10s with having to carry a 12” square or using a 7” square and flipping it from one side to the other. Also the extension is nice and tight and doesn’t wiggle side to side making it out of square

Great invention. Soo many times do you need a larger speed square but hate lugging around that big 12” speed square around. I install trim and flooring everyday and love this speed square..!!!!

Cool but cumbersome.

It’s good if you need a 12in right now. But just keeping it in your tool belt for every use of a square Would rather use a light 6in only square.

Well worth the money

I thought this square would be a worthless gimmick after using a normal speed square for years. I was very wrong it's very sturdy and accurate

Off Square and Hard to Read

Disappointment at first sight—there’s a slight sheen to the finish which makes it hard to see the markings at certain angles. When compared to the bland looking Swanson, the Swanson is easy to read and it’s etching is well finished. What’s worse is that it’s out of square about 1/32” in 6”. I first noticed this putting it up against my Swanson. I then checked my Swanson on my framing square and checked the hypotenuse of both—both are bang on; I then laid the Crescent on the framing square and noticed the 1/32” gap. Another problem is the actual gimmick at hand; the fold out layout wing is proud maybe 1/32” and torques with the littlest of pressure. I’m sure over time this thing would bend or break. Smaller problems include the sheer weight and width of the thing; details that could’ve been passed over of it weren’t for the unforgivable inability to be square and legible! It’s only saving grace is that the measurements and angles seem to be on. Crescent, you make good tools, but this thing cannot be called a tool—maybe a paper weight. The bottom line is that It’s just a gimmick that wasn’t executed well.
