A Bit Pricey But Good!!!

Great filters - ineffective Amazon shipping packaging procedures...

Good thing about these AC filters is they're 1/4" larger both length & width (standard 3/4" thick), most other AC filters flat dimensions are typically 1/2" less (i.e.: an 18" x 20" is usually 17.5" x 19.5" actual size) for easy installation in all air handlers (filter holders vary slightly brand to brand), supposedly compensated by the air intake opening being 1"+- smaller. On the safe side to prevent incoming contaminated air & dust/dirt particles from entering the air handler coils, you want the largest sized filter of the specified size for your unit. And filter holders do rust &/or have air leaks in the housing assembly that would eventually decrease the units efficiency requiring cleaning the coils or replacement. A positive bonus of these filters... BUT... I've experienced Amazons packing standards & methods preparing goods to ship without damage or loss of items enclosed has become substandard - with little regard for the fragility of goods enclosed having to endure the abuse of their various shipping carrier (USPS abuses packages much less). This shipments shipping box was split wide open along the top except for 3" at one end due to the box being sealed w/only 1 strip of 2 3/4" cello tape on top & bottom seams & no additional taping of the 4 end seams. Being in gourmet foods mail order 30 years I always say that cello tape is not magnetic & must be pressed upon firmly to properly adhere after the tape is applied to corrugated shipping boxes, especially in hot & humid conditions. 2 strips of tape on each top & bottom seam & 1 strip along each of 4 end seams effectively prevents any trapezoidal distortion of the master box that usually causes these failures. Additionally this problem is compounded by the basic production method of plastic tapes which akin to most papers, have an inherent grain structure that is laterally of superior strength, yet longitudinally (running from end to end of your taped box seam) is inherently weak & a mere nick or puncture of the closure seam will split it neatly end to end like it was a zipper. Yes these closure methods are more time consuming & utilize 6X the amount of packaging tape (the cheapest aspect here), but being Amazon these proven methods are inconsequential when packaging personnel are reviewed primarily for speed.

It's fits my furnace good. Good quality filter. Takes out a lot od dust.

These filters are okay. I wish the price was better, as they don't do anything special except filter dust. I usually buy the allergen reducer kind but they were too pricey. So, I settled for these. They're not as sturdy as I'd like them but they're easy to install.
