Disappointed.
Disappointed. I sent the book back because it was not what I ordered. I ordered a composition toed boot, I was sent a steel toed boot. The added weight made it feel clumsy. I give a 4 only because I know Dan Post boots are quality merchandise.

1 year later
I own 2 pairs of these. 1 steel toe, and one without. I work in a food cannery. These boots have kept my feet dry and have held up to a solid year of everyday wear. I average 10-18 miles a day of walking at my job. The sole still has good tread and the boots have held their shape and structure very well. The balance (foot section) of the boot is synthetic leather. At first this upset me. After some time I realized that it was better for the environment i work in. They are more waterproof than an average boot with a much lower price point. I have owned several other top boot brands (Ariat, Timberland, Keen, Redwing) that were around 200-230$ a pair and by the end of the year I am 2 month overdue for new boots. The insoles on these are beaten down and the heel is worn out on the inside so they need to be retired. Follow standard cowboy boot fitment when selecting a size. Most people go half a size down. You want alittle heel slip but not much. Remember the material will stretch so alittle snug is ideal to having the perfect fit when they are broken in. I stand by Dan Post boots year round. I have a winter pair (blaydes without ST) and a summer pair (standard cowboy boots with thin rubber sole) and my work boots. I ride motorcycles, weld, cut wood, and all around abuse this brand. With alittle saddle conditioner a few times a year they just keep going.

Great boots
This boot is super durable! I applied mink oil for extra protection. After a few wears I did have to add inserts to tighten up the fit. Love these boots so far!

Best boots I have ever owned
I work as a land surveyor in the front range of the Rocky Mountains in Northern Colorado/Southern Wyoming. The rain and snow cause a lot of mud, and these shoes are impermeable. I seriously have never had a better pair of boots in my entire life. It’s not even really worth mentioning, but the the only change I’d make is from steel toe to composite toe just because I have to use a metal detector at work and my toes get in the way from time to time . Pretty sure the description said they were composite, but they are definitely steel toe. Still, don’t care, 5 stars.

Quality boot at a reasonable cost
Used for work it’s a boot that’s worn at least 6 days a week so it must do the job

The country product was made ( no China)
Pictures are worth a thousand words. $200 is a lot of money for footwear, so you expect quality US Made products. Toebox too wide, no arch support, and that they’re lined inside or insulated which is uncomfortable. I have worn these work boots for seven days and so for not satisfied and also can’t get pants over tops of boots really large upper.

Very Good Boots
These boots are very well-built with very nice stitching. I bought one-half size small as suggested in the reviews and they were still just a little too big. Would still buy again though. I've used these non-stop for half a year now and the only thing I don't like about them is that the left insole ripped at the heel and now whenever my feet get sweaty (and that's pretty much every time I wear them) I have to hold the insole down with my hand when I take them off or the insole and calf-part lining will come out with my foot and then I have to try to stuff it back down in. Not fun. I still like the boots overall though I wish they weren't steel toe.
