Wonderful product to fix cracks in ceilings and walls

I have now repaired about 15 various cracks in my ceilings and walls. This product works. While I suspect that a traditional compound or spackel would give a somewhat smother finish once sanded, this Elastomeric product will last longer (because it is elastic). Just remember: it is not a traditional compound: don't put a bunch up on your ceiling, smooth it with a blade, and then expect to sand it smooth when it dries. The best way to apply this is to put a very limited amount along the crack, use a putty blade to smooth it, and don't worry if you don't fill the crack entirely. Rather, give it a second coat, and be sure to smooth it right away with the blade or perhaps a finger. Then prime it and paint it. For me, the most difficult part is matching the paint!

Great stuff as long as no air gaps...!!!

1st tube was perfect, 2nd tube had big air bubbles. Going along with a nice bead and then "Blurp, splat, and 2 full pulls of the gun to expel air and then goo spirts before proper dispensing. 1st time ever seen this happen with a tube of caulk. Tube didn't go as far either. I was lucky to finish the project before running out. Should have had 1/3 left over approx. But the product works great. Sure this was just a fluke. I'll use this stuff again on future home maintenance projects.

Excellent product

Caulked joints of 50 foot-long ood balcony fencing with it. Easy use, didn't crack upon drying. Remainder in tube stayed wet / usable for a week between uses ... others have dried out / wasted money. Bought more for other projects.

How to avoid cracked caulk

So I paid a painter to come and fix a crack in crown molding caulk. He told me a “painter’s secret” - elastomeric caulk. He said if the previous person would have used the right caulk it would not have cracked! The elastomeric caulk is very flexible and moves rather than cracks.

Shrinks and is Not Sandable

The caulk does shrink so it will require more than one application. It is not sandable like drywall compound. I used this to mitigate an expansion crack in drywall. I painted over it and it is indeed paintable and doesn't gloss up using semi-gloss paint. It's okay, but not really worth the $7.00/tube. So that's not a review of the product really, just the value to me. It ain't perfect, just okay IMO.

Good value vs flex seal

I bought this instead of flex seal and it worked great on a pool deck.

it works well and it is very easy to paint

I used this to patch a ceiling crack. You must read the instructions because you can't sand this. You want to get a smooth application. If you are careful to do that, it works well and it is very easy to paint.

it does what it's supposed to, but remember it's not caulk. you need to tool it right away. and it WILL shrink if you are filling deep cracks. be prepared for multiple applications.
