Pretty feeder birds love it
4 stars because the company doesn’t have replacement cylinder available for when recalcitrant squirrels get inside and decide to chew the holes bigger. Fortunately, those squirrels are few and far between.

Very nice
I have two of these. My squirrels have entirely given up on attempting to feed from them. Also keeps out the bigger bully birds. Just waiting on a new color before adding a third. Very nice.

Not squirrel proof
I really like this feeder and so does the squirrels who keep getting stuck in it. I have no idea how they fit in between the wires & cant get out (I have to keep unscrewing the top to free them).

Think twice before you buy this. This product is not what is described and not worth the money.
This is not what was described and I don't know who the seller was because this package was shipped to 4 different places before it got to me and it was late. The item was in a box with no secure packaging and it was just in there rolling around all over the place. I am not happy with the product and I don't know who I purchased through.

Beautiful design
Well made and lovely design. Looks great in the yard and the birds love it...It did take a few weeks for the birds to find it, but now that they have, they love to sit inside the "globe" and eat. This is the second one I have purchased, The first was a gift a few years ago and this one is for us.

This does stop squirrels!
This really works. Our destructive squirrels cannot get to the bird seed. After a few days of frustration they attack other feeders instead.

Florida birds did not like at all
In a month, I saw 2 female cardinals in it, one at a time. They did not know how to eat from the holes, not to stand on the perch. Only ate what fell on the bottom. When the snow birds return, I'll try it again. I was a day too late to return. Too small an area for a bird to eat. I do not recommend it.

Not squirrel proof - a dangerous squirrel trap
I bought this feeder to keep bigger birds and squirrels out, and allow smaller birds to feed. Although it is attractive and well suited to the small birds, there are two major design flaws: 1. The screw top is easily unscrewed by squirrels. The feeder then drops to the ground and lots of seed spills out. I had to tie the lid handle to the cage with twist tie, which makes opening and filling the feeder much more fiddly. 2. Squirrels get trapped in the cage. The gaps in the mesh are just too big. Today, I had to call the RSPCA to free a squirrel that had its back legs caught and we couldn’t free it. Feeder had to dismantled with bolt cutters. Do not buy. I’ve had the Nuttery Geohaus feeder for many years and it’s a much better choice. Secure, smaller gaps in the cage, easy to open, but locks securely.

Squirrel proof but with a caveat.
I love these. They look great, they keep the big birds out and let the little ones in, however, they are not always squirrel proof but this is down to user error. I've watched the squirrels try and bite through the bars but they can't which is good. What the squirrels do however is jump up and down and shake the bars whilst they have their back legs on the screw nut at the top, by this process they slowly loosen the screw (I'm not sure they even know what they are doing, but they are squirrels after all!) and very soon they are spinning the whole feeder until it falls off, spraying the contents all over the grass. So this feeder is brilliant, but users must make sure the screw top is slightly more than finger tight to stop the squirrels disassembling it!! If I can film them doing this I'll add it to my post at a later date.

Works, looks good, but roughly made
This feeder seems to be genuinely proof against squirrels and parakeets. I haven't seen any starlings on it either, although there are plenty of these around. It's also a good looking thing if you don't look closely. But filling it is awkward and slow. You have to unscrew a nut from the top and set it aside. Then you remove the lid and set that aside. Then you move over a central bar that blocks the top of the feeding tube, and after all that you can fill the feeder. Finally you have to reverse the first three steps. This is not a good design. Also, it's not well made. The wire cage which forms the main frame is inaccurately welded and the feeder tube sits at an angle in it. The central bar is too long to fit properly into its clip, and jams and has to be dragged out and shoved in with considerable force. It's hung up by the central nut, which has a small wire loop in it. But the wire loop pivots loosely and hangs down against the cage. This makes it difficult to fit the loop over the hanging hook when the cage is hung above head height (which it should be). All in all, a handsome object but the design needs a complete rethink. It should be hung by a big wire loop on hinges at each side of the lid, eliminating the need for a central bar that blocks the tube. This loop should be shaped so that when it's in a vertical position it holds the lid down -- there are already feeders with this feature. The lid should be on a hinge, so you don't have to take it off and set it aside. And the loop should be able to stay upright, however lightly held in place, so that the feeder can be hung up easily.

Another useless feeder.
I had high hopes for this feeder. The squirrels have learnt to remove the lid from the caged feeders I have at the moment so I liked the fact that this one 'locked' on although it doesn't really lock, just screws down. I figured a risk might be that a squirrel spins round on it, eventually unscrewing the top and leading to it crashing to the ground. However, they had no need of that, they just get in through the bars and have begun to destroy the plastic surrounding the feeder holes. The rest of the thing is well constructed in heavy gauge steel but then they put soppy plastic bits where it matters, hence only 1 star for sturdiness. It's such a shame as I love the design and the look. I am going to mix my seed with chilli powder and see if that stops the blighters!!!

DEFINITELY NOT STARLING PROOF
Bought because I wanted to feed a hedge full of sparrows, but NOT starlings, this feeder looked like it would be suitable. Sparrows have ignored it so far, sadly not just because it's new, but because the first bird in almost immediately was a starling, who got in easily and started 'hoovering up' the contents. Although the feeder may well be squirrel proof I don't have that problem. I think a fortune awaits anyone who can come up with a feeder that attracts small birds like sparrows, but deters starlings.
