De Blaire is een veelzijdige sandaal boordevol comfort en mode. De Blaire zit boordevol Doc Marten-DNA en is gebouwd op onze nieuwe lichtgewicht Ziggy-zool. Verstelbare bandjes zorgen voor een persoonlijke pasvorm en een voorgevormde sok in elke sandaal betekent dat de pasvorm comfortabel genoeg is om de hele dag te dragen. Dr. Martens is het spul van legendes. Het begon allemaal in 1945 in de buurt van München, Duitsland, toen Dr. Klaus Maertens zijn voet blesseerde bij een ski-ongeluk in de Beierse Alpen. Om het lopen tijdens het genezingsproces te vergemakkelijken, ontwierp hij een schoen met een luchtkussenzool. Met behulp van oude rubberen banden construeerde hij zolen waarin lucht in gesloten compartimenten zat. Hij liet zijn prototype zien aan zijn bevriende ingenieur/uitvinder, Dr. Herbert Funck, en samen besloten ze de schoenen te ontwikkelen en te produceren. De schoen loste niet alleen het directe probleem van de dokter op, maar begon ook goed te verkopen in Duitsland. In 1959 besloten de twee dat ze een bedrijf nodig hadden om de schoenen te produceren en te distribueren, toen genaamd Dr. Maertens, in andere delen van de wereld. Aanvankelijk verwierpen veel fabrikanten het concept van een zool met luchtkussen als een kortstondige gimmick. De R. Griggs Group, gevestigd in het dorp Wollaston in Engeland, besloot echter in te stemmen met het idee door de eerste werklaars met de revolutionaire zool te creëren. Op 1 april 1960 werd de eerste kersenrode werklaars met acht veterogen geproduceerd en kreeg de naam 1460. Om de merknaam beter in Engeland te verkopen, werd de naam verengelst tot Dr. Martens. DO NOT SIZE DOWN!

I listened to the reviews that said to size down and that is not good advice! A size down causes your heel to hang off and toes to be too squished at the top. These are an adorable shoe and fairly lightweight in comparison to a lot of Dr Martens. The straps at the top don’t fit tight against your foot and are not adjustable. I wish they were a bit tighter. The ankle straps are adjustable. I reordered my true shoe size and they fit fine. Although, I am already getting blisters on my ankles after just an hour of walking around my house. I am hoping once the shoes are broken in that they will no longer cause discomfort. The shoes feel nice on the soles only my feet so far minus the digging on the ankles. They are quite a loose shoe. So far these shoes seem to be more of a fashion statement than a shoe you would feel comfortable walking hours in. Once they are broken in I will update this review for others to read.

Cute but scratched

The cutest sandals. Comfortable sole. I sized down a half size. Usually 6.5-7, bought these in a 6. Unfortunately, the top strap scrapes against my ankles no matter how loose or tight I make them. Have to wear band aids there. Also, both the first "try before you buy" pair and the second pair, which I ended up keeping, were delivered with scratches on the leather.

I wear a size 11/10.5 in most women’s shoes but I ordered size 10 in these because of previous reviews! I am glad I did, size 10 fits best in length as well as in the straps although the third strap furthest from the toes is somewhat loose which is somewhat frustrating. Other than that I will be using them and seeing how things go.

Great shoes run 1 size big

First ordered in my normal size of 9. Way too big. Returned for a size 8 and they fit perfect. I have a wider foot and these are very comfortable. If you have a narrow foot-these are not the shoes for you. Arch support hits just right. Only complaint in the ankle strap in the right foot is rubbing my ankle. Will break them in a bit and that should fix that. Just received today and am wearing around the house. So far love them!

Cute but a little big

Love these sandals, they’re just a little big and rub on the inside of my ankle and top of my ankle. I have to put a bandaid on certain areas to prevent rubbing. Other than that I love them! I get so many compliments.

Best Sandals!

These are by far my favorite Dr. Martens sandals. They are so comfortable and great quality! I’m a true size 8.5, I ordered 8 and they fit perfect. I also love the padded back strap, so no worries about rubbing or blisters. My summer staple! Buy them, you won’t regret it.

Size down!

I am a size 7 with EVERY shoe. I have 2 pairs of doc martens boots and am a 7 in those, so I was confident and got a size 7 here as well. The length of the shoe was noticeable long and the straps left a lot of gap. I returned and replaced with a size 6. I think it gits perfectly. Granted there is still some room with the straps on the top of the foot, but some flexibility might be nice. They seem nice and supportive, haven't tested out on a long day for comfort yet. The strap seems to rub a little around the ankle, again haven't tested on a long day first but might be cautious and break in with socks or bandaids. Other than that SUPER cute and trendy. Can't wait to wear all summer long!

Cute and Great Quality

This is such a cute sandal and is made to last. I have worn it to church, going out, and even just with friends. Very versatile! I did get a blister the first time wearing and the sizing is a bit weird ( I sized down), but overall a great shoe!

Great for wider feet

For context- my feet a large, high arch, and wide width. I usually need a 10.5 wide, or size up to an 11. I purchased the size 10 after reading reviews. They feel great, fit well, but the ankle strap rubs when I walk, so wouldn't wear these on days when I need to do a lot of errands or walk a lot. Cute, but definitely not an every day wear.

Lovely sandals

Lovely comfortable sole, straps are a little wide and hard but I'm sure once they have been worn in a bit they won't be rubbing on my ankle as much. I would definitely recommend these shoes but I'd buy them in advance if they are for holidays just to soften the strap around the ankle a bit.
