Great for a variety of ages!
Purchased this when we were going to be traveling as a family. We really enjoyed this. It is pretty easy to do so I think even young children would enjoy this. The puzzles get harder as you go, so the first ones are easy enough for a preschool/Kindergartener. My teens enjoyed it as well as myself. I didn't really keep track of my time, but I would say as an adult with a bit of experience with these types of puzzles it took me probably an hour or 2 to finish these. I do wish there were some more (harder) puzzles, but it was fun to work through the book. I like the fact that all of the pieces fit inside of the box and there is a light under the tile area to show the color mixing of different layers. It was fun!

It’s nice quality
The instructions for the game was not very good very clear. Don’t really understand how to play the game so therefore it’s not very interesting because we can’t figure out exactly how you’re supposed to be playing it.

Disappointed ☹️
I own several Kanoodle games and have been very pleased. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about this game. The product I received looked as if was pre-owned as scratch marks are visible on top , bottom and inside carrying case. The pieces don’t fit securely in place so they easily shift/ fall out while placing other pieces on board. I completed the first 3 puzzles however the board never lit up after batteries were properly installed.☹️ The quality of is very poor / cheap and will scratch easily, game pieces collect dust and are big and clumsy to work with making this an unenjoyable game that I am only too happy to return. By the way, Good luck trying to organize pieces in proper “set up” position as the carrying case will not close if pieces are not aligned. No, I would not recommend this game. ????????

Interesting concept and enjoyable for the family
I gave this to my kids and grandkids for Christmas. They had a lot of fun with it initially, learning how to make the various shapes and colors and then creating their own. Then they set it aside. But when I mentioned it again, they brought it out again and began enjoying it again. My grands are 6, 8, and 10, and all enjoyed it.

It's a neat idea, but the puzzles are way too easy and not very fun
I have mixed feelings about this game. The simple light-up, color-stacking nature of these puzzles is fun and easy to understand. The color of the lights shining through the pieces is attractive and beautiful, and it is fun to make new colors by stacking the pieces in various ways. I have kids, but I mostly ordered this for myself. I liked the idea of solving color-based puzzles, which is an idea I had not seen before. My main complaint is that the puzzles are WAY too easy for me. While I could flatter myself and say that I am a color genius, it seems more likely that these puzzles just aren't very difficult to solve. puzzles 1-30 took zero thought or challenge for me. I could figure them out faster than it took me to find the correct piece and put it on the light board. One of the reasons might be that the puzzle itself shows you a black outline around the colors, which indicates the shape of the piece you will need to solve it. I suspect the puzzles would have been much more difficult if that outline was missing, and it only showed you the color patterns. To be fair, I found a puzzle around number 30 that I could not figure out, and it really stumped me. It turns out that the black shape outlines were incorrect and showing the wrong piece shapes (from what I can tell). In any case, the puzzles may be harder for children, or anyone who doesn't already know what colors you get when you combine red + yellow, yellow + blue, etc. There are solutions printed in the back of the book, if you need them. Batteries are NOT included, and there is a simple on/off button on the side of the box. Unfortunately there is no way to see if the box is turned on when the lid is closed, so if you leave the power button turned on or toggle the button by accident, your batteries will be drained the next time you pull it out. Overall, this puzzle box is well-made and interesting to use. While I would say the easier puzzles make it a better toy for kids, my 8-year-old son showed very little interest and didn't play with it for more than a few minutes. A more contemplative child might have more success, but it wasn't very fun for our family. While I would give it a personal rating of 3 stars, I'm going to give it a 4-star rating for the unique idea and quality of the parts, assuming you don't mind extremely easy puzzles, or have the right kind of child to enjoy this item.

Colorful game for building spatial reasoning
I'm planning to give this game to my 8-year-old son as a stocking stuffer or Easter basket item. The box is approximately 8" X 7" and 1 3/4" high. The game case is approximately 7 1/2" X 7 1/4" and 1 3/4" high. I tested the game out myself. Batteries are not included, but I had 2 AAA batteries. It took me a minute to find the on switch. It is a tiny button on the side. The manual is very visual. It shows the board and the pieces needed to build it. The solutions are shown at the end of the book. I found the game to be easy. I even did the last puzzle in the book quickly. I think my son will like it, although he has strong visual-spatial skills and will probably find it easy too. The puzzles were still interesting. The board looks cool lit up, and it's fun to see the colors change. One thing I noticed is that yellow and blue mixed make a bit different shade of green than the green pieces. The real challenge is trying to pack it up the way it came. I couldn't get it to fit back with the plastic insert, but that doesn't seem to be needed. Otherwise, the case closes well. The pieces are strong but a bit thin. Kids need to treat the set gently, because it is breakable. That is probably why it is recommended for ages 7 and up. I think younger kids could use this with adult supervision.
