Installation can be a little tricky but it works like any other smart switch

The media could not be loaded. This Enbrighten Ad-on switch is very useful if you would like to control your smart switches from multiple locations. The QuickFit design makes it easier to get it installed because it's 20% smaller and there are not any annoying break-off tabs like the older models. 1. INSTALLATION - it's very important to note that you MUST have a Neutral cable in your electrical box for this Ad-on switch to work, otherwise it will not work. The package comes with detailed instructions in english and Spanish so make sure you follow along. I'm not an electrician but I've switched plenty of switches in the past so I didn't find it difficult to install, but your mileage may vary. 2. COMPATIBILITY - I've only used this switch with GE/Enbrighen switches, but you can use this ad-on switch to compliment another Enbrighen/GE Zigbee, Z-wave or Wi-fi switch. This Ad-on switch will not work by itself so you have to use another main switch. 3. USABILITY - Use this switch to control Smart Lights, Ceiling Fans or Pumps. It's a toggle switch, so you gently press it once to either turn on/off the lights and keep the toggle pressed to dim/brighten the lights. I use SmartThings to control my main switch and it works perfectly fine, so as long as your Main switch is paired with a hub, then you should not have to do any additional configuration for the Ad-on switch.

Easy to install, works great

No problems with installing it and getting Alexa to recognize it. The only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 because it only comes in white. Do that many people have white switches and covers in their home now that they don't offer what I thought was the most popular color (light almond)?

Easy and effective smart switch

This review is for the Add-On Switch, which works as a "slave" in a 3-way setup with a second Enbrighten switch, which works as the "master." I found it easy to install myself and works like a charm. A few notes: The "master" switch must receive power from the breaker panel. So, you need a tester to ensure you know which switch is receiving power from the breaker. I have two of these 3-way setups at my house and in both cases it was the switch farthest away from the breaker that was receiving power from the breaker, and hence the master switch must go there. The add-on switch is installed in the secondary switch location. The master switch is also the switch that you'll add to your smart home setup. I'm using SmartThings, and adding the master switch was as easy as scanning the QR code. No need to do it again with the add-on switch. The dimmer control is nice: just hold the up or down paddle for a moment and the light will dim. Of course, you can also ask Alexa to dim the lights.

Excellent dimmer, excellent dimming quality

excellent dimmer. high quality and UL listed. smaller and thinner than most dimmer, innovative feature of load/line sensing; meaning you don't need to know which one is load (light for example) or line (power 120V). this switch would determine that internally. best feature is it's dimming capability. i had kasa dimmers installed before, and i replaced those with the GE dimmers. the dimming quality of Kasa is no match to GE dimmer. GE is way superior in terms of performance. Also, in my opinion, GE dimmers are best looking as it looks like a normal rocker switch. i have lutron dimmer installed as well, good performance, but after a while i realized the lights on the dimmer (that correspond to the dimming levels) look funny, after a while. GE dimmer is decent looking. installation is easy, single dimmer, or 3 way or 4 way. just remember one basic concept. the primary dimmer switch always has the line (120v), load (light for instance), neutral, and ground. the traveler wire between the primary dimmer and add-on switch; is just used to send a low voltage signal to the primary dimmer to turn on/off the lights. GE z wave (or honeywell ultrapro z wave, or ultrapro z wave, etc.) all made by Jasco. they are same , buy the one that is cheaper. these z wave devices do need an add on switch(s) for 3 way or 4 way installation. you can't use it with a normal mechanical switch. if you want GE dimmer in 3 way configuration to be used with normal mechanical switch, buy the GE wifi dimmer. 3 wifi dimmers for approx. $50. but in my opinion, the z wave is worth the investment since the z waves are smaller and dissipate less heat. in older homes with not too deep electrical boxes, that is beneficial. i installed 9 primary dimmers and 7 add on switches. all work good. there are two typs of z wave dimmers by Jaso. the new version is 20% smaller and has line/load sensing. buy that one, easy to install: The GE add on switch needs a neutral wire. the traveler wire (just one wire red or whatever color you have) goes between the add on switch and the primary dimmer. this low voltage signal from the add on switch to the primary switch , tells the primary switch to turn on/off the lights. these dimmer and add on switch just work like normal mechanical switch, meaning, press top of the rocker to turn ON the lights, press bottom of the rocker to turn OFF the lights.

Supports Inovelli smart switch local control disable at aux switch!

This aux add on simplifies the 3 way smart switch configuration. I have Inovelli switches and you csn use the old slave dumb switch with it. However with all the variants of 3 way wiring configurations I only got the dumb switch to work 1 out of 4 times. Not very good hit rate. I chalked it up to not knowing exactly which 3 way wiring configuration I had in order to wire the dumb switch properly. I finally dumped that and got this aux switch and it works every time and it's the same wiring configuration for me. One I identify the main master switch, the hot line on master, and the load line on the slave, it's fairly easy. Plus this aux switch has the same click feel as my dimmer inovelli smart switch and had added benefit of being able to use the inovelli disable local control at the slave switch. If you have inovli switches and want to use local control disablement you need this, it will not work with a dumb switch (tried it). Long story short, this is a good switch and I'm getting more.
