We have 3 different sizes. Saves expensive knives. My wife loves them.

We started out with a large size. It took a lot of counter space and didn’t fit in the dishwasher. We use the small size, whenever we can. The smaller sizes fit in the dishwasher. Dishwasher safe. Will the dishwasher shorten its life? Maybe. It’s convenient and not that expensive to replace.

Great for crafting

Love, love, love them (have 2, a large and a small). Both provide a sturdy, easily cleaned, portable crafting surface. Glue, gesso, texture paste, watercolor paint, alcohol and water based inks are all used on the projects created on my boards ... and they are still as pristine as when they arrived! Painters tape adheres well for securing a project on the board and comes off cleanly. Easy to tote if crafting with a group. Only caution is don't use for food if you've used it for crafting ... has a non-porous surface but wouldn't want to take a chance on contaminating my food with the crafting chemicals.

Brittle edge

I ordered two, one for me and one as a gift. Both came with a chip out of the scraping edge corner. The packaging was not damaged, (at least until my dog dug it out of the recycling and chewed it up) so I'm led to believe the slate edge is quite brittle.
