Mattel customer service is very accommodating.

Fisher Price toys generally hold up well and this set is really cute. If only we had received a dog to rescue. Since the animal rescue set is currently out of production, we can’t get a replacement dog. However, they are sending us a different whole set that is available, free of charge. Bravo Mattel customer service.

Adorable playset perfect for car or animal lovers

This is easily one the best Little People sets and one of the cutest toys I've ever seen. Whoever thought of combining a fire station and a pet rescue center was a genius! There's something for every child in this set whether they enjoy vehicles or animals. It's gender-neutral and has many adorable details. I was able to get this on sale and since it has 6 figures it is definitely worth what I paid (25 dollars). You get a boy and girl figurine (a fireman and pet rescue worker), a cat and dog, and a firetruck and a helicopter. I got this for my 21-month-old son for Christmas and he enjoys playing with it and I know as he starts understanding pretend play we will get even more use out of it. Since he was about 9 months old he has been obsessed with cars and vehicles in general, so I knew he would like the helicopter and truck. His favorite part right now is having me place the fire truck behind the doors and then he pushes the button and the firetruck rolls out to music. We've done this easily 25 times now :-). The helicopter blades spin if you put it on the landing pad and turn the handle. Inside the rescue center there's a food bowl and bed built-in to the floor. I've been teaching my son to feed the pets and put them down for a nap. There is also a bathtub on the top floor and you can wash the pets with fake bubbles. The kitty can get "stuck" in a couple of places on the tree and then rescued with the extending ladder in the fire truck (or the helicopter can swoop in and grab her). Super cute! This set closes so it doesn't take up too much space. My only complaints are that the truck is a bit difficult for my son to line up (the ladder has to be in the proper straight and lowered position otherwise it gets stuck when the doors open). In addition, the helicopter is a little frustrating for him to put in position so the blades spin. This set closes but only if you fit the truck inside diagonally. These are all minor problems and I know the former two complaints will not be an issue as my son gets older and more coordinated. I highly recommend this playset; we are having loads of fun. As my son grows I think he will enjoy making up scenarios about putting out fires, rescuing cats, and giving a checkup to the animals.

Tons to do!

This playset is awesome! 2 year old niece adores the 2 vehicles, and I love that it folds shut! I believe I got it on sale for 20$, but it's definitely worth at least 30$ with all of the features!

Buyer Beware - Foreign Imports

Buyer Beware - some sellers are selling imported French speaking versions. Do not rely solely on the photos for confirmation. Product itself looks very good and robust, unfortunately we had to return ours due to it speaking French instead of english, almost ruined Christmas!

Just as fun for my daughter

Compared to the other Little People sets, this one is mediocre. However, my daughter will play with it. She's spent enough time with the other Little People sets to know to press the big red button. She doesn't know how to put the fire truck back into the fire station. She also loves to spin the wheel. However, she doesn't know how to set the helicopter into the slot so the wheel can turn the rotors. In addition to Mia and Firefighter Rob, this set comes with a dog and cat. She immediately recognized the cat and started to meow. However, it's also possible she was saying the Chinese word for cat. Surprisingly, the two words sound alike. She also enjoys opening the door to find something or someone there. We usually put the dog there. However, from time to time, to spice things up, I put Batgirl there. It's funny. I don't know why I use Batgirl. I guess it's because Green Lantern needs to drive the fire truck and Batman is too busy with the helicopter, so someone has to be inside the animal shelter. There's also a place to hide in the tree. I usually hide the Joker there and my daughter gets a kick when she spots him hiding there. One more thing I need to add. Firefighter Rob sings a song that starts with "Hey Kitty Kitty..." Dear goodness, he sounds creepy when he sings it. I'm surprised it made it to the final product. You'd think someone else would have mentioned it in a focus group or something.
