Perfect for occasional use
This press works exactly as it should, but here are some tricks. First, keep a can of Pam handy. Second, instead of plastic or waxed paper, cover the press plates with parchment paper. Next, spray both press plates and sheets of parchment paper generously between presses. Place ball of dough off-center next to the hinge and farther from the handle. Gently press. If it requires force, your dough is too stiff. Add a tiny amount of water. Finally, when peeling away the parchment, remember tortilla is delicate. Peel gently and leave one side attached to the parchment paper. Cook 30 seconds, peel away the parchment, and then turn the tortilla. (I cook them 30 seconds per side, 3 X per side) Spray and reuse the parchment paper. One more trick: use a griddle or large skillet. I used an 8" skillet the first time and had no room to maneuver the spatula.

Easy To Use
Never in my life did I make tortillas before buying this press. You do need to cut a plastic freezer bag to use with it, to keep the tortillas from sticking. I have found it to be relatively easy to use, even as a beginner. My son and I do not eat gluten and the corn tortillas from the store don't taste very good, so I bought this to make our own fresh corn tortillas. I use a mix from the store. I add some salt and lime juice to the mix and I think it improves the taste. Go ahead and invest in a nice cast-iron griddle, if you don't already have one. I set aside a couple of hours and make a big batch of tortillas and freeze them. They freeze and thaw really well.

Works as advertised.
Does exactly what it is supposed to do, press out tortillas. If I was pressed to find a fault, I would say that there is no 'overpress prevention' on this unit. That is to say that one can press the the handle hard and cause the tortilla to come out too thin on one side, and be normal thickness on the other. Also it does come with a recipe for flour tortillas which is nice of them to provide. I only eat corn tortillas, so I haven't tried the recipe yet, but still it's a nice extra.

Pin has to be removed each time.
I was looking forward to purchasing this only to find out that you have to take the pin in and out to store ! Eventually it will strip and break. Would not recommend.

Works great - just a little pressure needed
This tortilla press works great. Just cut open a freezer weight zip lock bag along the sides, put masa ball inside, put in the press, close press and apply LIGHT PRESSURE Using a tortilla press doesn't require heavy pressure. In fact, heavy pressure will likely break the handle. Clean-up is fast and easy: just rinse, dry and put away. Don't use a dishwasher. Washing in a dishwasher will likely tarnish the press and shorten its useful life.

Homemade tortillas!
I have not used the press yet but believe it will work great for my homemade tortillas. Getting a nice evenly thin tortilla by hand is not something I am able to achieve so need a little help from this unit. Love watching the ladies in a local Mexican restaurant make these by hand and have them come it so perfect each time.

Great tool
Really like this tortilla press , easy to use and makes nice tortillas, however I wish it had a handle that you can remove when finished with it, a little difficult to put away.

Doesn’t stick and heavy duty
Don’t waste your money on a different one. This one’s heavy duty, the handle is thick and it’s nonstick. I’ve used it a lot and no issues yet.

So easy to use. Great for healthy eating.
We use this to make flax tortillas (zero carb). 1 cup ground flax 1.25 cup water 1/2 tsp salt Boil water and salt. Add flax to boiling water, remove from heat and stir vigorously. Let sit for 30 min. Press dough between sheets of parchment and freeze. Pan fry from frozen (don't flip till the edges curl up). Store cooked tortillas in the fridge.
