Gave me confidence to take his binki away.
Bought this for my 9 month old. Who only used the binki to sleep but would wake up through the night crying for his binki. I’m giving 4 stars as our baby was weaned in 3 days. I’m leaving off a star as he absolutely hated it and didn’t take it at all. The first two nights we ended up cutting a hole into his regular binki and putting this in his crib with the stage 1 binki. 1st night he Cried for two hours which we had to go in and pick him up and roc him several times then he slept through till 3 AM and cried again looking for his Binky. Then woke up again at 6 AM. He cried through both Naps us the next day. Second night he cried for 15 minutes and slept through until 2 AM then cried till 3 AM wanting his binki. I change his diaper, gave him a 4oz bottle put him back down no binki. He woke up at 6 AM. I did not give in and give him back his old Binky said we push through and stick to the plan. I was super tempted to break but didn’t. I rocked him through the night I gave him a bottle at 6 AM. He slept through his first nap no problem no Binky cried the second nap. Third night he fell asleep no Binky within 5 mins and no crying. I didn’t even offer a binki to him. He slept until 6 AM. Amazing first time ever not waking through the night. 1st Nap he cried for five minutes then fell asleep. 2nd nap he went right to sleep sleep. He has not had a Binky since day three! Amazing. He does cry when we put him down for naps but only for 2-3 minutes. He has really learned to self sooth. I think in the end this gave me enough confidence to take his Binky away by giving him a supplement. I think we could’ve done cold turkey him but I was too afraid to do it. This product worked for me! Even though my baby hated it.

Worked for us— Before we used Philips Advent Soothie Pacifiers from 0-19 Months
The nipples gradually get smaller as it says. Before buying I was skeptical about if it would actually work, but I didn’t have another alternative. It’s important to note that my 19 month old was previously weaned off her pacifier with the exception of sleeping and when she was really upset or hurt. Day 1 of the Frida Baby Weaning System was really rough. She didn’t want the pacifier bc it wasn’t the one she was used to and so she’d just chew it. The first day was filled with lots of crying whenever she wanted a pacifier and she probably only sucked it like twice for 2-3 seconds. We tried the longer side of the recommendation for 2 days and didn’t need to go past pacifier number 3. By that point, she only used the Frida Baby Pacis as a teething toy and so we got her to use her actual toys. The next few days she went to sleep without any issues but would wake up crying for a paci and I’d just comfort her. Now, after a total of almost 2.5 weeks after starting, she occasionally will ask for it out of habit but without all the crying for one. If you start, stick it out and it’ll work. AGAIN, day 1 is the hardest filled with lots of crying which will lead to baby not wanting a paci at all in the end. Try to distract them by playing or talking to them by how they might be feeling while comforting them whenever the crying starts.

Done with pacifiers!!
I was skeptical about this system and price considering I needed two. Our 3 and almost 2 year olds would not go to sleep without a pacifier. So I decided they needed to stop at the same time. Step 3 was the hardest for 2 year old, cried when it was bedtime, but got over it. Step 4 is like what is this, and Step 5 ???? I don't know how they held on. 3 yr old was done at Step 5 and didn't want it at all. 2 yr old took it for 4 nights and then stopped. So total of 11 days both are completely done with pacifiers! We followed 2 days per step besides going to 5. Highly recommend if other ways of stopping has not worked!

Refused At Stage 1
Not much else to say. Our 1.5 year old has a similar orthopedic pacifier (MAM). It took him seconds to figure out the difference and refuse step 1. Doesn't help that step one already has a hole cut out of it, making the transition even harder. **EDIT: It's been a few days now, and he has fully accepted the 1, and has just moved to 2. I do not feel my last review was fair. Our child when we started this system was only using a pacifier at bedtime. As strange as it sounds, to get him acquainted with this system we started to give him access to the '1' throughout the day upon demand. This worked to get him adjusted and now he accepts them fine and he is now working his way through the system!

They Work!
My son(19months) needed the pacifier to calm down so I was really worried that we wouldn’t be able to get him off of it. We started using these and only had to go up to pacifier stage #3. It worked like magic. We followed the directions of each one give it 1-2 days. We only gave him one at night and the satisfaction was gone so he now sleeps by himself. Weeks later when he got sick and couldn’t sleep we tried giving him a regular pacifier just to sooth him for the night and he DID NOT want to put it in his mouth. He just held it while he slept. Highly recommend this if you want to get rid of pacifier!!!

It does work its magic
I was nervous to try this out but it worked well. My 15 month boy was attached to his binky at nap & bed time, and he is not asking for binky on the third day, so we have only used Day 1 paci of the system. I'm not going to deny that there are crying before bed because he is not getting his usual binky, so we need to cuddle him slightly longer (like, another 3 minutes?) before bed so that he could calmly be placed in his crib and fall asleep on his own.

Tongue sores
It seems to be working but after using "step 3" for a couple of days, I noticed she was very very fussy. After we made it through a terrible night, I found two big mouth sores on her tongue. I've no proof that they came from the binkies but that is the only thing that has changed for her that may cause it. They are also placed in the center at the sides of her tongue where the binky would sit. She was sucking it and getting it stuck on her tongue like a new habit quite often but I didn't think it may cause something like this. Again I can't guarantee that it came from the binky but it seems oddly timed. But it WAS working until now

Worked for my 18 month old
I was sceptical at first but my daughter was approaching 18 months and I wanted to get her off dummies and I wasn't keen on the 'cold turkey' method. I followed the steps and honestly it works. Moving to stage 4 was the most challenging and by stage 5 she had lost interest. For a week or so afterwards she would occasionally ask for her dummy and we would tell her it had an ouchy and show her the stage 5 dummy which she found quite amusing! Her nursery were really impressed and the room lead said this was the quickest and easiest she had seen a child stop using a dummy. Overall I am really impressed and would recommend this product. If you aren't keen on trying the cold turkey method I would invest in this.

IT WORKED
My son was ADDICTED to his sucky. This set got him off in 5 days!! He has been sucky free for over a week!! I couldnt be happier! Will keep these around for a while so worth the money!! My son has used a sucky since day 1 from the hospital and he will be 2 in march 2021, so i really wanted him to go to sleep without it and now he does every time! So happy if your thinking of buying this set just do it you will not regret it!

Stuck on step 4
This worked amazing.. until I got to step 4. Step 5 is just something they can hold since they can’t put it in their mouth so my son just got really frustrated because it was kind of like a tease for him. Step 5 should have enough nipple to it that they can put it in their mouths but not enough to suck so eventually they just give up on it. I’m glad we made it to step 4 but step 5 needs to be improved in order for this system to be completely successful.

Cover a little snug but sense well designed
My child never made it past stage 1. Yes she was older then recommended but she used the type of pacifiers they recommended and we needed to try something. She HATED the stage 1 pacifier and threw it away each time we gave it to her. One time she fell asleep with it. But that was it, no more pacifier. Considering I often held her pacifier in my mouth the reason I think she hated it was that it was too tight around the mouth, we used the ones that were more open for sensitive skin so that could be why. Other than that I think the system is a good way to try to wean them off the pacifier. Safer than snipping ends off your own pacifier that’s for sure.
