if you have the right parts -it is very easy to work with both ABS and PVC components

solid - well made; but NOTE! this would fit 4" sewage line (ABS gage). most PVC 4" sewage pipes are of a slightly SMALLER gage. in that case you would need adaptors and a special glue that works on both PVC and ABS. so in hindsight for I could have used a regular ABS or keep searching for a slightly smaller gage 4" PVC clean out - more so - if you are inserting this clean out into an already existing line - in most instances you would need a rubber 4" to 4" adaptor (with metal loops on its ends) for one of its sides. therefore you wold need an adaptor for that one side of the PVC 4" sewage line (for the rubber side) so you would still need one adaptor to make the PVC slightly larger. i don't know if such PVC adaptors exist (I HAD ABS adaptor) so and you would need the multi purpose glue for that side. if you have the right parts -it is very easy to work with both ABS and PVC components. just some extra steps.

NOT Schedule 40!!!

Product description is inaccurate. This is not a slip fit schedule 40 or drain/waste/vent sizing. It is gasketed and sized for standard dimension ratio (SDR) pipe. If you don't follow the distinction, what it means is, if you are used to using home center pipe and fittings (whether pressure-rated schedule 40 or DWV), this type of fitting is incompatible. I bought thisbitem twice because I figured the first one shipped was a mix up but the replacement was also gasketed SDR. Not wanting any more delays, I ultimately ordered from an online plumbing supply house.
