weathervane mount

I was going to build my own but was cheaper to buy this one. Very well build and easy to install for my weather station.

Be careful where you mount it.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because if you mount it where rain can hit the opening in the vertical part of the mount, it will rust on the inside and you will get rust stains running down from the mounting plate area. I had to use a rubber washer that fits tight against the shaft of the item I am placing in the mount and is wide enough to prevent any water from entering the opening of the vertical section of the mount.

Weathervane + Antenna Mountings Made Simple

I bought this mount to attach a weathervane to the roof eave of my house. I'm glad I found this mount because I had purchased a large weathervane without a way of mounting it to my roof. Unbeknownst to me was the difficulty of attaching a weathervane to a roof that dosen't have a cupola. Many weathervanes are made to be mounted through a hole in the middle of said cupola. Cupolas are not cheap so I found this handy mounting bracket. The bracket was well made and easy to install. It is supporting a heavy 36" weathervane without issue. You could also use it to mount a tv antenna or flag pole to your house. A+

Hang in there!

I purchased a weathervane at an antique shop. I was not interested in putting it on the roof, I wanted to see it whenever I was in the yard. I originally wanted to mount it on one of the deck rails, but realized that the weatervane may end up hurting someone. Finally, I found this wall mount on Amazon.com. I was skeptical that it would be able to support a heavy weathervane, but I was thankfully wrong. It is a sturdy and strong metal mount. Installation was quick and easy. I installed it on a support post between the balcony and deck, extending out over the yard. I am happy to say that my rooster weathervane is standing tall and moving in the wind.

Perfect diameter

This extension was exactly what I was hoping it would be. We had to move the weather vane from the roof to the side of the porch. this worked out fine - plenty of clearance from the siding.

Plate was not welded on square.

Mount plate was not welded on straight. It seems a little thing but my wife noticed right away. It came off the building immediately and went in the garbage.
