Best Air Fryer I’ve Owned - Top Marks!

I’ve used it at least a dozen times now, and couldn’t be happier with performance and outcome. I’ve even purchased one for my daughter, and sister. Made chicken tenders and thighs, pork chops, tilapia, salmon and lots of veggies. Everything has come out beautifully. I am impressed with this air fryer’s ability to crisp and brown meat, while maintaining a high degree of juiciness and tenderness. I’m equally impressed with the easy clean-up. Haven’t needed to scrub anything. Just a little hot soapy water in the basket and a soft sponge or cloth is all that’s needed. I never use any abrasive cleaners and always silicone tongs or spatula when removing or flipping food, to keep the non-stick coating in pristine shape. I purchased when there was a $20 coupon, which made for an amazing deal. Even at the current price ($10 more) this air fryer is still a great deal. The programming is intuitive and the AF comes with a nice little instructions booklet, that includes temps and times of some popular food items. My last AF (a popular brand that was just recalled) worked ok - I would give it a grade C on performance - however was an *absolute beast* to clean due to basket design. No problems with this one. A+ Buy with confidence. I bought this, I use it often, and I love it. No one paid me for my review. Additionally, I have not experienced the lack of browning in the front of basket issue that another reviewer reported. It is important to brush or spray on a light coating of oil just before cooking. I cook low carb, and use grated parmesan a lot for coating, rather than flour or Panko, etc. What I do is spray a tiny bit of avocado or olive oil over the grated parm to get a really nice browning, as you can see in a couple of my photos. Am I the only one who actually paid for this? It was absolutely worth every penny! It's AWESOME!

The lighted viewing window is everything!! The chicken is out of this world. Sweet potato fries...excellent! (Just brush with olive oil the last 2 minutes and then add your sugar and cinnamon.) Batter fried zucchini without deep frying in oil. Yep, just lightly brush this too with olive oil the last 2 minutes. What about chocolate cake. Yep, did that, too and a banana nut bread and cheesecake. It REALLY BAKES. Think oven..not microwave. It doesn't get things done in 3 minutes. It gets done as it would in the oven. Baked potatoes wrapped in foil...Yep! Of course, reheating leftovers, especially pizza is great!.. If you're not quite really when the food gets done, no problem! You can set the "keep warm" option and it will automatically switch to 180 degrees for 30 minutes to keep it warm. It even broils. Tip it upside down and peak underneath. at the top. Yep, a heating coil, just like your oven. The only drawback that I can think is possibly the size if your have a large family. This is pretty large and deep inside, so it's perfect for singles, couples and maybe one more. You can even purchase a wire rack to make two layers which doubles the capacity. I love it. Highly recommend!

Good customer support could not remedy inherent flaws

I've owned and used this for an entire year. PROS: 1) Viewing window and interior light work well and location of the window above food diminishes cleaning hassle, the one part of this unit that was designed well. 2) Interior is easy to clean in spite of having a viewing window, as mentioned above. However, there was a smudge between the double panes that was present out of the box and can never be cleaned. 3) It has a pause button. Cooking can be paused without removing the basket. 4) Customer support was very accommodating, replacing original unit quickly (NOT because of the smudge...see below). CONS: 1) No dial. Adjusting time and temp requires an annoying number of redundant button presses and fingerprint smudges. 2) No inherent mid-cooking turn-food signal. 3) Default cooking mode when first turned on is NOT air fry -- and the symbol for air fry mode isn't intuitive, nor is it the first one on the display. I had to print out a chart to reference the symbols which have no text on the display. Symbols are a little difficult to both see and decipher. 4) Max temp is actually about 380 F, not 400 F, per oven thermometer, tested multiple times for long durations. Same with replacement unit (which was shipped by customer support very quickly). I first discovered this issue when cooking hardboiled eggs which required significantly more time in this unit than in my older Insta Pot Vortex air fryer at the same displayed temp. Testing with an oven thermometer revealed the approx. 20 F degree temperature disparity. 5) Contrary to the name, it is NOT made in the USA. Not a big issue for me personally, but notable. 6) Cooks very unevenly; the back cooks much more quickly than middle-to-front. One side of bread will get very dark brown while the other half is still white, unless I turn it around midway during cooking. Conclusion: My Insta Pot air fryer crisps better, faster, has a automatic/inherent mid-cycle turn-food signal, and it has a dial for quick smudge-free temp and time adjustments. It lacks a viewing window and interior light, but otherwise it is superior to this one. Perhaps GoWise customer support might be better than Insta Pot service? I wouldn't know, never having a *need* to contact Insta Pot customer support... I'm giving up on this GoWise air fryer and buying second Insta Pot air fryer. Ultimately, I do need an air fryer that can actually reach 400 degrees sometimes.
