No match for the destroyer

My puppy is a chewer. And she is good at it. She is 35-38 lbs. She was taking little pieces off this toy in about 5 minutes. She spits out the little pieces, always. To the point I trust her behavior. So for her - was it durable, no. Is she a tough chewer? Yes. The only toys that have long term thwarted her attempts to destroy them are Kongs and Chew Kings "Kong" knock off. (she hasn't even damaged them.) But it's a nice relatively soft rubber toy. it won't break teeth and I imagine it is rewarding to chew on. The price is low enough, if she completely destroys it in a day(she will)... she enjoyed chewing on it. No regrets. I gave it a three because the arms are coming off with any dog (they should be molded in contact with the torso.) The rubber while soft enough to be rewarding to chew on, will not survive 'chewing'. For me - it was worth a few dollars to give my pup something rewarding to chew on for a day. :-) She definitely enjoys chewing on it.

Fun to throw in the air and catch

Great toy for Precious to play with by herself. She likes to throw it up and then chase it. She has such a good time doing this, she wiggles about and jumps up and down. She makes me smile.

Great cheap dog toy, but won’t last long with a big dog.

I bought this as a display item for my room considering it was very cheap, but bought another one for my girlfriend’s dog, and she chewed it up in a matter of hours. Works perfect for display.

Butter’s favorite toy!

Gumby, you are Butter’s, favorite toy! You are sturdy enough to last for about eight months before we have to order one of your brothers and have him sent to the house to take over. Thank you for all your sacrifices over the years lol.

Not very bendy or soft and my dog took no interest in it or saw it as a toy, even when covered by peanut butter. Shame.

Dog isn’t interested

I bought this Gumby because I remember having a dog 11 years ago that absolutely LOVED her Gumby chew toy. So I thought I would order one for my ten month old Pyrenees. My memory could be off, but I recall the older one being thicker. - But again, it was a while back. My dog, “Hope”, is weird. So I don’t think it is the toy’s fault! She only enjoys chewing on food or couch legs. No matter how many toys I buy, of all different sorts, she doesn’t seem to interested. I will say that she was oddly gently with this toy. Maybe because it has eyes?! She just ever so gently picks up one leg with just the tips of her teeth. She has yet to actually chew on it. Though I don’t think it’s arms would last too long. On a side note, my kids fight over Gumby and everyone wants to play with it! Gumby has taken a shower and even been a soldier in war. So, we are still getting our money out of it.

Strong chemical smell that wont go away, Cant imagine that being good for your best friend or you..

I bought this to replace the one that finally got torn apart it was his favorite toy, he took it to bed every night but he wants nothing to do with this one and I don’t blame him.The chemical smell coming of it is strong. I have tried disinfectant wipes, soaking it over night in water, laundry soap, every cleaning product we had. I even ran it through the dish washer a couple of times. The odor faded a little better but it's still present. Dog still want’s nothing to do with it and that might be a good thing. We have plenty of other rubber chew toys and none of them have an odor anything like it ,I’m starting to think its toxic or some kind of unhealthy something and not good for him or us so were going to toss it. The old one didn’t smell of anything other than a slight rubber smell and that was only after Mr.Gumby had his limbs amputated you got a little bit of a rubber eraser smell just like what you would expect a rubber toy to smell like. Don’t buy this I don’t think its safe for your best friend.or you.

I do not recommend this dog toy!

This arrived yesterday. When the parcel arrived from China it smelled of a strong perfume odor and I don't know why. Gumby smells perfumey so my husband washed him in warm water with baking soda and vinegar. It still smelled. Our small dog is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel crossed with a Toy Poodle and she weighs about 7 pounds and she is 9 months old. My husband gave the Gumby to Molly this morning and she chewed off the arms of this Gumby in about two minutes per arm. Then she proceeded to chew off the top corner of his head. There were tooth punctures all over the body. I threw him in the garbage and asked my husband why he let her eat the toy. It is dyed green all the way through and I had read that dog toys color-dyed heavily could be toxic so it's better off in the garbage than to have our dog with toxic poisoning. I have read the other reviews about this toy so I thought this would be a good one for Molly as like all puppies she likes to chew. I can't believe that dogs in the other reviews couldn't do it any damage. It's more like a licorice stick to our puppy. I, personally, do not recommend this Gumby toy from China, at all.
