Elkonin Box Magnetic Dry Erase Boards hebben een ingebouwde schuifregelaar die helpt bij het opbouwen van fonologisch bewustzijn! Great for phonemic segmentation and blending but sadly OVERPRICED

This is an excellent tool for teachers trained under the Science of Reading and looking for hands-on materials to support phonemic segmentation and blending in the classroom. The slider tool is especially helpful for my students who struggle to blend sounds. And the tool itself is kind of like an enhanced and interactive take on the traditional Elkonin box! However, I am disappointed and appalled that the company has the audacity to charge such an egregiously high price for what is simply 5 small whiteboards lined with cheap plastic. The markup on this is probably over 300%. Sad that these educational resource companies are willing to take advantage of a “trend” in literacy instruction to deplete from the already-meager wallets of underpaid, dedicated teachers who need these tools to help their students thrive. Shame on them.

This is great to build phonemic awareness. Students are able to sound out words and build syllabics knowledge.

Great For Teaching Kids Their Words

I am a mom and I am constantly trying to find educational material to help my son learn his words. This product is a great way to show kids visually how to pronounce their words while working with each letter and combination of letters. This product is very easy to use and is very convenient for even a classroom. The main thing about this is the price is very expensive and it is probably out of most people's budget.

Interactive and engaging way to get my first grader to learn and blend her sounds into words. THe boards are reusable for lots of practice. She prefers using these over regular pencil and paper.

Great Tool for Teaching Literacy Skills

These are super handy and helpful with teaching my preschool class letter and sight words. They have multiple functions too! Love that they are both magnetic and dry erase! They write on easily and wipe off cleanly! The magnetic part makes it easy for letters to stick to them! The only negative I would give them are that they are rather expensive for the simplicity of the product.

Great Learning Tool

This is a great learning tool. As an ENL and reading teacher, I teach phonemic segmentation. These wipe-off boards have boxes and a slider for students to segment sounds. I like the boxes because it enables students to segment each phoneme. The board is large so the student or the teacher can add a picture or write above the boxes. The slider is a great multisensory tool, especially for tactile learners. They can slide to each letter and then slide across the word to blend it. I will use this with my students at school and also with students whom I tutor. The price is a bit high for what you are getting. For that price, it should come with dry-erase markers, erasers, or some magnetic letters. Almost $60 for dry-erase boards is a bit high. I do like them and will make good use of them. They are sturdy and the boards are of good quality.

Great for learning

My son is 4 years old. It has been a good learning tool for him. It just feels a bit pricey and the slide gets stuck sometimes.

Magnetic board

We use this tool to teach our kiddos phonemic awareness. The board is magnetic, which is great for kiddos who cannot entirely write letters. So instead of handwriting, the kiddos can use magnetic letters. The slider can be a little hard to use (it sometimes gets stuck), but it’s an added benefit. Before these boxes, the kiddos would use their pointing finger to indicate the blending process. Now, the slider adds an interactive complement to learning. It would be great if the set came with CVC pictures for the kiddos to try and spell. Overall, this is a functional tool for teaching reading skills.
