PRODUCTBESCHRIJVING Deze Heath/Zenith SL-5318-WH-D buitenlamp combineert twee halogeenschijnwerpers met een programmeerbare bewegingssensor - alles in één duurzaam ontwerp en werkt goed boven een garagedeur, aan de zijkant van een huis of op een andere plek behoefte aan meer veiligheid. De sensor van het licht detecteert beweging tot 22 meter (de gevoeligheid kan worden aangepast), terwijl de pulsteltechnologie valse activering door wind en regen helpt voorkomen, zodat alleen substantiële beweging wordt gedetecteerd, zoals mensen en dieren. Stel de timer in om aan te geven hoe lang de lichten moeten blijven branden nadat de beweging is gestopt, of schakel de lichten op elk gewenst moment handmatig in of uit met een schakelaar binnenshuis. Naast het leveren van maximale schijnwerperverlichting met de bewegingssensor, kan de veiligheidslamp dankzij de DualBrite-technologie ook worden gebruikt voor lage accentverlichting. Experienced a number of failures after 1 year
After approximately 1 year, the DualBrite feature, which dims the light for a predetermined period of time after dusk, became permanently activated although it has been disabled since installation (switch set to "off" position). Now the the light has begun to flicker randomly like a strobe light. This can only be stopped by turning off power to the light. I am disappointed as this unit was a replacement for a similar model from the same manufacturer that worked flawlessly for more than a decade. Will attempt to reach customer service by phone as the website does not seem to be working anymore. Even if I were tempted to purchase again, this light has increased in price 50% since purchased from Amazon 18 months ago in Sept. 2021 ($35.44>$53.32).

Great value
This is the second one of these that I have purchased and installed on my house and I will be buying one more. These are not the highest quality but they work! At $33 its a great deal. I love that it has the dual brite function and the dawn to dusk function. This is the main reason I bought these and for the low price. I added LED 5000k lights and it looks and works great. You are able to adjust the lights individually to point where you want them and lock them in place. The sensor is also adjustable and works fine. It doesn't lock securely in place but it stays put fine. The trim rings are not built in and you have to install those and they are thin and can bend easily if you are not careful during installation but again they work fine just not highest quality just don't crush them while handling them. Once installed the operation works great. I have them set on dusk to dawn so they automatically come on half power for constant light when it is dark. When it detects motion they come on full power and are bright for the amount of time you choose. Overall I am very pleased with them. Installation was easy, they work great and are a great value. I also like that bulbs are not included so that I can pick my own since there are so many bulb choices these day.

Great product
Great product - high quality, reliable and easy to install. Would definitely buy again. I appreciate the fact that you can set it up as a normal flood light, then increase in brightness when motion is detected.

Eh, it's a light. See the update at the bottom,,,
I installed this light to replace a broken light fixture. It installed fairly easily, and with no help needed. I was able to aim the lights where I wanted them, but getting the sensor to recognize movement properly was a trick. I have it mounted about 12 ft high on my garage, and it does not seem to see me until I'm about 10 feet in front of it. Since my driveway is about 250 feet long, that leaves me with a LOT of darkness before the stupid thing comes on. By the time I'm that close, I think I could make it the last 10 ft without it. Mostly, I just wanted help with snow-blowing in the dark, but it's pretty useless for that. Oh, well, it does light up well when it's on, but the sensor is lacking. UPDATE: 12-20-2011 OK, just getting around to the update. I have shut the thing off for a few months now, because it worked OK at first, but then it kept coming on at night, presumably over every leaf blowing by in the fall. I say presumably, because eventually, it was on more than off, and keeping us up at night. Then one night it simply started to strobe, and that was it. It's off now, and has been off for months. Nothing is worth the disco inferno that's going on out there every night, and I'm too lazy to take it back down and replace it.

Simple driveway motion light
- Replaced a 6 year old motion light from the same company (or very similar) - Since this was a simple swap, I removed the old light, then installed this one with the mounting screw and the supplied wire caps - Light covers were a little flimsy in my opinion, they kind of twist to lock on - The sensor has a lot of settings...I leave mine on max range and 6 hour dusk...which means it stays on LOW light for 6 hours at dusk before turning off and becoming strictly a motion activated light. This is a nice feature that some cheaper models do not have. - I used 120 watt halogen flood lights, but the limit is 150 per side..I think thats too much for my needs so the 120 works fine. - Overall I'm pleased with the unit and hope it lasts a little longer than the last one did! Time will tell.

4 1/2 stars These are nice
I will buy more. This is the same product packaged and sold under other names like ACE HDWR etc. Amazon delivers this to my door and cheaper. "Dual-Brite" (option)or whatever they call it is nice. It is like a night light. Turn it on or leave it off. Your choice. This unit is made of metal not plastic. The UV rays might fade the paint but the metal will not crack. I just tried to go out and adjust my old plastic motion sensor lights a few days ago. That is why I am buying new lights now. After a few years the Sun's UV rays will destroy most plastic material. Buy metal and maybe you won't have to replace the whole lamp fixture the next time the bulb needs replacing.

a good product but you gotta install that carefully
For the price this item is unbeatable. It really has as a wide and long detection range as advertised and it worked pretty reliably since i've installed it more than a month ago. The only one note i would make is that the manual does not stress enough the importance of pointing the light beams (or even their reflections) away from anywhere close to the motion detection sensor. I've found that out at my expenses cause a reflection of the light on the wall kept setting the motion detection off and the whole thing would keep flashing like an emergency light until i've figured that one out and solved the problem just by pointing the light on a different direction.

The bulb shields are not the best where they attach to the fixture
Out door motion sensor fixture is as described. Gave it four stars only because the daylight sensor is too sensitive and will continuously cycle the light if the lamps are aimed to illuminate an area below the fixture. You have to aim the lights wide. The bulb shields are not the best where they attach to the fixture. Update: One of the 3 units have failed. The light just keeps on flashing on and off. Apparently I'm not the only one having this problem. Need to get a warranty replacement.
