Beautiful fan! NEW WALL CONTROLLER INSTRUCTIONS included !!!!!!!!
Beautiful fan! Not easy to install due to its size and weight but the effort was worth it. So far it is quiet and the breeze in my living room feels great! Since my fan seemed to have an odd startup sequence, I contacted the manufacturer and learned that they have revised their wall controller instructions from the installation guide-- We need to have the power button engaged ALL of the time now for safe operation/longevity of the DC motor/controller .................................................................................................................... WALL CONTROL OPERATION: Revised instructions from Kichler Tech Service There are four buttons on the wall control, there is the top REV/FORWARD button, the LIGHT button, the FAN button (for on/off and speed control) then you have the bottom POWER button. When you have a DC Fan and are using the WALL control to operate it, the bottom POWER button on the wall control should remain in the ON position at all times. DC (Direct Current) Fans require constant current, meaning they need constant power and when you are using the POWER button to turn the Fan on and off, this will affect the programming or the receiver which is also called the motor control. In order to turn the Fan on/off, press and release the third button (Fan button) on the wall control. In order to turn the light on/off, press and release the light button on the wall control. You can also dim your light kit if you have an LED light kit or Incandescent Light kit. To change direction of the Fan, simply press and release the top button while the Fan is spinning. This is the REV/FOR button. The Fan will start to slow down then stop and change direction. Please see the instructions below regarding programming your DC Fan. This Fan comes with a receiver which is installed and in the motor housing and is replaceable. DC Fans receivers do not have dip switches, instead it searches for a signal when going to program the Flan. NOTE: If you are using both the wall control with a remote control, please be sure to program the wall control first, then sync the remote with the wall control/secondary. NOTE: If you have a light kit on your Fan, please read the following: Also, If you have an LED or incandescent light kit, please make sure that the FIFTH dip switch in the back of your remote, is set on D for dimming. If you do not have any light kit, please be sure to set it at “D” as well. If you have a Fluorescent light kit, please make sure that the FIFTH dip switch in the back of your remote, is set on X for fluorescent. To program or reprogram your DC Fan by using the WALL CONTROL, you would do the following: Make sure there are no LED on in the same room as the Fan or within 30’, if so, please turn off as some LED can cause an RF Signal interference if not FCC approved. If your Fan has a light kit and is either incandescent or LED, make sure the fifth dip switch in the back of the remote (remove back cover to retrieve access), is set on “D” for dimming. If it is Fluorescent, be sure to set it on “X” for Fluorescent. First, turn power off at the wall control, this is the bottom button. Next, turn power off at the breaker, wait about 10-15 seconds so that it resets. After turning power back on at the breaker, you have 60 Seconds to do the following: Push the POWER button on the wall control in so that the Fan is now ON. Then hold down the top button, the REV/FOR button and watch the Fan, the light kit on the Fan should blink twice, this should occur within 3-4 seconds, then let go. NOTE: If you do not have a light kit on your Fan, the Fan will start to spin, once it begins to spin, let go of the REV/FOR button. (This should occur quickly, within 3-4 seconds). If you have a light kit: Once the light kit blinks twice (of the Fan begins to spin), it will spin in one direction for 90 seconds, then it will completely stop and begin to rotate in the opposite direction for another 90 seconds. After it has programmed, it will then shut off. You can now use your wall control or remote control to operate your Fan. To program or re-program your DC Fan by using the REMOTE CONTROL, you would do the following: Make sure there are no LED on in the same room as the Fan or within 30’, if so, please turn off as some LED can cause an RF Signal interference if not FCC approved. If your Fan has a light kit and is either incandescent or LED, make sure the fifth dip switch in the back of the remote (remove back cover to retrieve access), is set on “D” for dimming. If it is Fluorescent, be sure to set it on “X” for Fluorescent. First, turn power off at the breaker box and wait about 10-15 seconds. (If you have a wall switch, do not turn off from just the wall switch). After turning power back on from the breaker, you have 60 seconds to do the following: Take the remote and stand as close to the Fan as you can and hold down the POWER button until the Fan begins to spin (This should occur within 3-4 seconds). Once the Fan begins to spin, let go of the POWER button. OR: If you have a light kit on your Fan, once you hold down the POWER button, the light kit will blink twice within 3-4 seconds, then let go. (Same instructions as above). The Fan should spin for about 90 seconds in one direction then it will completely stop (Do not touch any buttons on the remote) it will then begin to spin in the OPPOSITE direction for another 90 seconds (Self-calibrating/programming itself). Then the Fan should turn off. You can now use your remote. ******************************************************************************************************************************** REMINDER: This is a DC (Direct current motor Fan) and needs constant current/constant power, therefore, no switch should be used when using with the remote, and if so, it will need to be left in the ON position at all times. Doing so otherwise, can affect the workmanship of the Receiver/Motor Control the programming of the Fan. IMPORTANT! If you need to replace the motor control/receiver, please make sure you have the installer turn power off at the BREAKER and not just the wall switch, doing so otherwise will cause the built-in sensor within the motor control/receiver, to fail.

Living room center piece
Looks and functions awesomely! Never realized how undersized the previous fan was. Install notes: uses a single hot line for everything. If you have a separate wall switch for fan and light, you will only need one moving forward to control all functions.

I had a problem twith Fan not running
I had a problem with the fan not working. I did not want to disassemble and take it down to ship for replacement 14 ft up in the air and 85" fan. So I Call Kichler tech support told them what the problem was, they verified the problem over the phone, Sent out a new DC drive control board. In the process of installing new board found out the manufacture assembly had pinch the three wire to the DC motor, which cause the drive board not to work. Installed new board every thing is works fine.

Can't feel any breeze
This fan doesn't go fast enough to put out any breeze. It was a total waste for me. It is like not even having a fan at all unless you just want something for looks.

Gentry ceiling fan
Absolutely love this ceiling fan! 85” span is perfect for the 660 sq space and 10 foot ceilings. This fan is so quite running on any of the 6 speeds. Even on the lowest speed you can feel air movement. This fan came with wall control that does everything. You do need 2 people for install.

Best in Class
Fans don’t get any nicer than this one. Just hung the 85” Gentry XL this week. If you’re on the fence, get off of it and buy this fan. It’s best in class. You will not be disappointed!

Problems
Had the fan for about 2 months and it stopped working. Called mfg and they said it needed a new regulator for the motor and will send the part. Paid $425.00 to install and they won't help with repair. Sounds like many have had trouble with this fan.

Kichler refusing to honor warranty claims after part broke
A cheap plastic part broke and I contacted them for a warranty claim. They ignored my request and told me I had to pay for my own replacement part. Look them up on BBB, others reporting the same terrible customer service. Caveat emptor!
