Perfect for a closet-obsessed cat

My cat can’t stand the mystery of a closed door, and the closet is especially tempting for him, because where else could he sleep in dirty laundry? Buuuut it’s pretty creepy to find the closet door randomly open, even knowing who the likely culprit is. So I wanted a way to stop him. Since I am short, and the closet has two accordion doors, I use this at the bottom between the two doors — and it’s perfect! I can kick it out of the way easily, and Mr Jeeves (or the closet monster) hasn’t figured out how to move it, yet. No more creepy closet for me!

Keeps my overly curious toddler out of the bi-fold closet in her room. After she started climbing and moving the chair we used to block the closet, we had to look for alternatives and lucked out with this product. Great for child proofing!

They work! And they look great!

There is nothing about this product I disliked. It works, it's simple, and it looks fantastic. I have multiple housepets and they've been able to defeat every bifold door lock I've tried except these. And they're easy to use, and virtually invisible. I can't say enough good things about them, they meet and exceed my expectations.

Perfect Fit!

So, I struggled to buy something to help prevent my son from getting into the pantry and his closet. I am one of those people that doesn't like to over proof my home so I don't just buy everything. However, my son at 20 months has found an interest in now opening and closing the bi-fold doors and sometimes will lean into it with his fingers in the fold. It is painful, I am sure and he is one of those boys that just forgets and repeats the action. So, I though it would be a sound investment to get these and resell them later. I have a house built in 2003 and the doors are the press wood type doors. I have tried the safety 1st brand that goes on top and you twist it to lock it in place. However, it is tight and just don't quite fit over the door. To make it work, I would have to force it, which in turn means scratches and potential damage. I decided to take a chance on these from KidCo and I have to say they fit perfectly! They are a clear plastic so barely visible. They fit perfectly over the doors and slide so easily I expect no damage at all. They are also a little thick so they seem sturdy. I have, on a couple occasions, tried opening the door, forgetting they are there. I will say I was not opening the door without moving the device. The nice thing is that my wife is not a tall person at about 5'3" and with the little wand, she has no problem reaching it. If you find you have narrow bi-fold doors, there is a plastic insert that clips inside of the device to narrow the gap. Of course, it is not adjustable in depth like the Safety 1st, but it certainly fits better, is simple to install and use. If you have a more modern home (last 10 years or so) with the wood doors instead of metal, these are perfect. A little pricey, but it serves the purpose.

Mainly stops kids and... CATS

This product was made for people with kids, but in my case, big cats... my cat figured out how to open a bi-fold doors, so this product did the trick to stop that from happening! This product was very easy to setup and use!

Poor product, poor customer service

Cheap flimsy plastic, utterly unfit for purpose. My small dog (bichon freis crossed with a king Charles spaniel, I.e. really not very big at all) pushed the door and this "lock" snapped completely in two. It's very brittle and is nothing more than a rectangular piece of plastic that clips over the top of the door. You'd be better off making your own by simply folding a piece of sheet aluminium, ask your local garage for help. It'll probably be cheaper than this overpriced piece of garbage too. Seller refused to consider refund or replacement because "its been more than 9 days" since I received the item. Apparently your statutory rights last a massive 9 days with these clowns and defects are only valid if they happen within that short time, despite the existence of consumer law To summarise, poor quality overpriced garbage sold by shysters

One of those simple can't live without gadgets thsts not sold here for whatever reason. Its literally a piece of plastic thats bent and just slides on top of the bi fold doors. Fantastic. Kids can't get in that closet anymore.

So easy to use!

This item slotted easily onto the top of my bi fold door. It keeps it quite snugly shut. It is easy to slide into the middle and onto the side again, so no hassle to use. Ideal for keeping a young child out of a room with a door like this. Good value too.
