Absolutely gorgeous faucet at high price; handles separate; but has low flow problems
The media could not be loaded. I had to replace my old faucet due to corrosion and always wanted one of these faucets. I ordered this from the plumber withthese K-98068-4-CP handles . At first I was very pleased; however, now I am so sorry I purchased this. After a few weeks the faucet barely dispenses any water. When I did a search on the Internet, I found others were complaining about the same thing. I will be having the plumber come back for the fourth time. Yes this is gorgeous but faucets are supposed to dispense water. See my video. Note that the sponge that is considered the aerator (basically a five cent piece) was removed and it did not change the water flow. I am beyond disappointed. Yes, Kohler gives a lifetime warranty on their faucets but what good is that if I always have to have a plumber come back and try to fix this. It is a waste of my time and tremendous aggravation. UPDATE 9/5/2020 - My plumber had to unclog the faucet. Apparently, the gaskets on the shutoff valves under the sink rotted and pieces of the rubber got caught in the tiny area where the water flows up to the faucet. He had to replace the gaskets and then he had to use several of my sewing needles to unclog the metal faucet. It took a couple of hours. The water is now overflowing. The design of this faucet is beautiful but the functionality is awful. I can now only turn the faucet on a hair. If I turn on the faucet more than a little bit, the water flows all over the sink and shoots up in the air. We did put back the sponge aerator. It originally flowed out of the faucet like a log flume but we finally got it in correctly where it stayed. Kohler needs to go back to the drawing board as far as this spout is concerned. I cannot recommend this to anyone. It's a poorly functional work of art. UPDATE 1/12/2022 - I have been having low flow issues again and now no water comes out of the faucet. It's been two months and this has not been resolved. I am so DISGUSTED with this faucet. It is useless art. Buy at your own risk; I cannot recommend this at all. UPDATE 2/1/2022 - I finally have water again after three months of waiting for the faucet to be fixed--not all of it related to Kohler shipping out parts that are not part of the problem. However, the reason this keeps happening is because of the design of the Kohler faucet is faulty. No parts are needed. They keep sending out cartridges for the handles but that NEVER fixes the problem. The problem is due to the miniscule line to the spout getting clogged repeatedly. I do not have hard water; I have soft water. All the condos by me have soft water. I know this because of the tremendous amount of soap bubbles produced. Yet there will always be some mineral build-up as part of water running through a faucet. That build-up causes the faucet to clog CONTINUOUSLY because the "air space" around where the water flows up to the spout is tight. The contractor had to take a needle (and vinegar too) to the long stem on the spout to clean it. After taking a needle to that area shown in the photo, the water flows freely again. Anyone who buys this faucet will have to take it apart every few months--like every four to six months. If the water stops again, I am demanding my money back from Kohler and I will report them to the BBB if they do not give a refund. UPDATE Nov 17, 2022 - The faucet is flowing less again. I finally gave up on this beautiful work of art and asked for a refund. They gave me a partial refund. Kohler absolutely refused to refund the tax. They refunded the faucet cost itself. I had to fight for an installation refund, which they also do not usually do. I'm still out $232.40 (the tax and extra plumber fees), but at least I am mostly made whole. Therefore, I'm at least 80% satisfied. This gorgeous artifacts flume faucet has low to no-flow issues. Designing a beautiful faucet that periodically stops dispensing water is just criminal. The intake is not wide enough for water to get through when calcium build-up happens as a result of just using it. At least they stand by their product for the most part. I will now use this refund, once it clears my account, to replace this piece of non-functional art. This will be my last post as I finally have some closure.
