Ammonia! Nitrites! Nitrates! Chlorine! Chloramines! This stuff neutralizes most of the bad compounds in your water, pre- or post- water change, and makes aquarium keeping SO much easier!!! I've been an aquarist, even professionally, for over a half-century. I learned all the old-school tricks, had to re-learn things as municipalities increased chlorine levels, then re-learn them again when they started adding chloramines. Each time there was a steep learning curve that meant dead fish. But even in a normal cycling of a tank, fish often die when the ammonia or the nitrites shoot up. That need happen no more. Amquel Plus is THE game changer to help get PAST the beginning tank die-off that discourages so many novice aquarists, and frustrates even us old-timers. And when in doubt adding new fish? Just add some Amquel Plus ...just in case; it won't hurt anything. Added plus? It won't hurt the break-in cycle at all; in fact, studies suggest it actually may help speed it along a bit. Can't beat that with a stick! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I can only hope it's working!
I don't have the tests needed to demonstrate that this is working as it should, and I use more than is suggested on the bottle because I'm worried that water conditioners won't do what they're supposed to do. I like this brand and I got these for a good price, so I'm very happy with the purchase. I wish these manufacturers would disclose third party testing.

Fast delivery in a securely wrapped up covering in the box
This stuff is very potent. Only a teaspoon or 5 milliliters will treat 10 gallons. This will lower the ammonia by 2 parts per million. I need to change by only a quarter of that level in 70 gallons. I don't know which chemical does the ammonia and chlorine removals, so I am very careful with it. I put the gallon jug in the bathtub before opening it. This will let me rinse away any spills. I wear a plastic glove after opening. I use a medical syringe (no needle) to extract just a small amount.

A must have for any Koi pond.
If you have a Koi pond then you should be doing frequent water changes. If you are using tap water you need to add AmQuel every time you do a water change. You should change 10% of your water at least once a week. It can get very expensive depending on which part of the country you live in. Amazon carries this product all the time with quick delivery.

Very helpful with med's
Levamisole and nitrofuracin green degraded filtration as listed. Could be decomposing worms overloading as well. At any rate this product showed immediate response from my small Angelfish. This can save your fish from secondary problems.

Dosage is finicky
This product does what it says, but you have to be extremely careful with dosage or you might kill your fish by hypoxia. Other water conditioners are much more forgiving with regards to dosage. This one, you might want to use a syringe and really measure the dose to add to a separate container. I use a python to change water in my big tanks, so I generally dose the whole tank prior to filling back up. I’ve never had a problem with Seachem Prime doing it this way, but the Amquel Plus is different. It caused the death of two fish with high oxygen requirements. So I don’t recommend using it with a python. I’m keeping it around for a stop gap in case I run out of Prime, but it’s way too finicky with dosage and a mistake will kill some kinds of fish. RIP Panda Garras. ????
