Kids love this!

This set is exactly what I was looking for as a Pre/K teacher. The picture cards inside are really good. The back of the piece has the word for the picture and my students love writing them in their letter journal.

Made out of strong, sturdy cardboard

I was worried that the soup cans might be too flimsy, but I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. Strong cardboard, that will hold up well! I'm excited to use it for my Kindergartener

Missing letter F can!

My grandson was so excited to receive the letter cans but he noticed right away that the F was missing & instead received two J cans!

I thought they contained more cards than these

The containers and the cards have too much wax or something. My fingers felt funny after opening all the cards and in each can, it had not many cards so i was a little disappointed. However, kids still liked the concept and had a lot of fun.

Great for learning to identify letters and sounds

The reason I knocked a star off is because our initial box came with 2 "g" and no "q"...so I had to box everything up and send it back to get a replacement. My kid was disappointed he had to wait a few more days to get his Christmas present but luckily the 2nd time all the letters were right. Everything is made out of cardboard but it is thicker cardboard and has a laminate on it which seems like you would be able to wipe clean. We do not have any problems with any of the cards not fitting in the cans like others have mentioned. The only questionable one is the sunflower that comes with "s" requires you to push it in instead of dropping it into the can. Some of the images my son has had to ask me what they are but it wasn't a big deal. He enjoys going thru the letters and sounding out the words in each can. Time with tell on how good these hold up but they seem pretty sturdy as long as your kid doesn't chew on them or throw them around.

I am always looking for items to support the letter and sound relationship. These work for consonant introduction for TK/K, but I would have preferred more variety with the vowels, since we focus on short vowel instruction.

Great learning resource for a range of ages!

A wonderful set! Added to our homeschool routine for a 2.5 and 4.5 year old. Great for identifying sigh words for the younger child, and the older child is working on spelling/reading with the written word on the back of the cards. The set comes with different ideas on how to use the cans in play and games, and then you can use them in your own ways as well, such as us and geared towards different age groups. I would not use this as a toy, but it is a great play and learning resource. The cardboard cans and pictures are thick and seem durable, but I know if I left them unattended with my kids they would be destroyed. We keep this set aside and are working one letter at a time each week, we are just finishing up "C" week and we love them! Highly recommend and definitely worth the price because of all the ways you can use them!
