Works as it should
To control a lamp, I purchased this particular outlet switch since it was the only one I could find in an ivory color. It works fine but I would prefer that the rocker switch on the side worked "backward" so that pressing the top would turn it off, just like a wall rocker switch. Frankly, I would have ordered one from a different manufacturer with an illuminated top-mounted rocker switch, but I couldn't find one colored ivory.

I bought this to use with my cell phone charger. When I learned that chargers, if you leave them plugged in all the time, still suck up energy and you are better of unplugging them when not in use. I am lazy and like to leave my charger plugged in near my bed...so I searched for a solution to help me save some energy (even if it's a minimal amount of energy being saved, it still makes me feel better to think that I'm at least conserving a little!). This is easy to access with the switch tap on top; one good snap to turn the switch off and your cell phone charger is no longer pulling electricity from the wall. Very clever idea; it only takes up one outlet space if you plug it in the top. The only thing is that it's not the most attractive piece in the world...if you are looking for something that will be slightly more appealing to the eye, Belkin makes more "visual friendly" models, such as this:Belkin Conserve Power Switch .

It works great!
I wanted a switch for the string lights in our livingroom so that I could just switch them on & off instead of having to reach behind our easy chair to plug & unplug them. This switch works perfectly for my needs.

Household Helper
Sooner or later, along comes an electric/electronic device that is difficult to get to when trying to turn it on or off, and it's just easier to unplug the thing from the wall outlet. Either that or get an outlet strip. I now use 3 of these. I've got 3 more in reserve because they'll be the best helper around for turning off Christmas lights and decorations. Too bad it doesn't come with a 3-prong for a grounding plug. It's just so much easier bending down to the outlet and hit a switch than grope under a sofa or cabinets to pull a plug or turn something off at its source.

The Perfect Solution
The "On-Off" switch on my vintage Harmon-Kardon stereo power amplifier was going. It didn't work more often that it did. So I use to leave it in the "On" position and just used the plug as a switch; problem is, it sparked every time. I knew that eventually a this would cause a power spike that could fry one of the components in the amp/ Leviton to the rescue. I simply plugged the switch into the outlet, and the amp into the switch. Now I have a reliable power switch again without any potential danger to the amp. My almost 40-year old stereo component is like new again.

Good product
It works OK, but sometimes when I press the ON switch it doesn't work, I have to switch back to OFF and then ON again, looks like it doesn't make contact when switched gently. I'm using it with a small power cable extension so it can fit in my power strip: 1-Foot Extension Power Cable, 5-Pack By the way, it doesn't have an ON/OFF indicator, so I had to mark it myself.

I love these. I use them in my kitchen to disconnect power from my electrical devices when they are not in use, without having to pull out the cords. I took a Sharpie and marked the on side so I can easily see. My counter top oven instructions require that the oven be unplugged when not in use, and using this product is much easier. I feel safer with shutting off the power to the coffee maker too, as I understand they can start fires.
