HISTORICALLY a Great jacket... with flaws, and a warranty that is unusable

Historically a great jacket with a historically great name! That has changed and I can assume it's because they became part of Coleman, but I have no idea and really don't care. Had it a year, and both zippers bound. They are really cheap zippers. Literally don't work after 1 season. So I contacted warranty support. They claim a lifetime warranty. Yeah- good luck with that. It sends and email, and says they will get back to you in up to 15 days. 23 days expire, and nothing. So I write them again, and I get an email back a week later from them saying "In regard to your inquiry, unfortunately, our Warranty Team is currently dealing with a high volume of contacts, so it takes a longer time to reply to warranty requests. They will be getting back to you as soon as they will have any updates." So they basically had the time to tell me to 'p$ss off' , but not to handle the claim. Their warranty is a total sham. I have a Patagonia jacket that I openly tore. They responded in 18 hours with 3 options to fix it (all btw - included significant expense on their part, even though I was VERY open about it being my fault). Thats real customer service. Don't buy Marmot. unless you get deep discount and treat it as disposable. You get better service from a Ross store.. Basically - your on your own.

Extremely pleased

Purchased this jacket for less than half of what Macy’s is selling it for. It is lightweight, has great pocket space and fits true to size. In addition, it keeps you warm when it is cold outdoors.

Best for the price

This is light weight and keeps warm at about freezing temps. Has hood so can protect against wind. Not sure if waterproof though. Material is thin so seems could tear easily. Not many down jackets to choose from but for price ok. Stay away from the cheaper ones as not any good, to little down and to thin material and does not keep warm.

Superlative

Very comfortable (including inside pockets if no gloves on its soft/padded/warms up hands). Chic. No quality defects despite online shopping. Extremely warm, even surprisingly warm I would say. No I would buy it again stuff, I AM buying it again in a few colors, this just became my staple for PA winter conditions. Happy to support firther production of this

Best coat for really cold weather

I bought my first one 2 years ago....and now Ive bought one each for all my kids...I recomend this coat especially for those who suffer the cold weather like myself. With this coat I go out even in the snow and Im warm.

Mixes it very well with Established Players at a Low Price.

I have had Duvets from Raab and ME in the past. Very expensive but well conceived and made. This is a simple "core" duvet sporting a very thin breathable shell that will not be waterproof and will have a tendency to catch on thorns. Fags or joss sticks will "rifle shot" through the shell with extreme ease. But they all do have this shortfall. The USP is that it is very warm and if worn with a Goretex storm proof outer you have a combo that would be perfectly good in the highlands through the most severe winter. On its own, it will soak and get waterlogged in driving rain as the others do too. But Marmot have produced this for £170 which is three, four or five times cheaper than its more illustrious competitors. Sure the design is basic (there is no differential pocket stitching for additional insulation or fancy sealing zippers and the hood isn't detachable) compared to the others, but you will probably get a similar life out of it. The winner for me was getting it for just over a £100. A combo of Black Friday and a Prime customer price. So that's actually paid for my subscription. A happy warm bunny.

Excellent jacket. I love it

I was almost put off by the review from another customer about the jacket being shiny in black, but i am so glad i bought it. I would not agree that it looks shiny. It has what i would describe as a soft sheen. Its certainly not shiny like you can get with some jackets. Its very nice and very warm too. The hood is adjustable at each side and doesnt come over your eyes when zipped right up. I like the fact there's a zipped inside pocket as well as a zipped chest pocket too and two side pockets which are also zipped. Warm and lighweight. Perfect and very pleased with it after trying many other brands of down jackets. 700 fill is super and its responsible filling too.

Warm!

Bought for a holiday to Iceland, absolutely brilliant jacket! Most of the time worn with just one layer beneath, in approx -8 degrees temperature with added wind chill and Kept me feeling toasty. Snowing alot of the time and the jacket didn't let any water through. Generous fitting and deep pockets. Recommended!
