Good quality brace but with more limited adjustment.

Works well but was a little small. I was at the cross over point for size (38 waist) and on advice of a earlier reviewer, I picked the smaller size since they said the sizes run large. Well, you really want to wear these over your underwear or your clothing so my advice is just the opposite. If you are at the cross over point you should opt for the larger size. These units have more curved edges so they tend to be a little more comfortable than the cheaper Mueller I have. But they do not have the adjustment range of the mueller i bought at Walmart. Both back braces work very well so I use them both. I put the Mueller on over my clothing for some quick lifting or moving and I use this for more prolonged discrete use. Both are used sparingly for prevention to prevent tweaking my back when doing unusually difficult work or after an 'episode'. Otherwise I try to keep my back in shape without this.

Saves my back

40 years ago I had a nasty fall that injured my spine. Since then an exercise regime has kept potential issues at bay and I have been able to be very active, even athletic. But at 75 the old injury has been able to interfere with my plans to continue to lead an active life, and after a day of heavy lifting, for which I have the strength, I am often faced with a week or two of severe back pain. Between this belt and another for which I have written a virtually identical review, my problem has been resolved. I only wear the belt when doing heavy lifting, such as yesterday when I shoveled heavy, wet, snow, and the result so far has been no subsequent pain from any of my activity. Because this belt can be worn via the suspenders even when the belt has not been tightened, I wear it when traveling so that I can handle our suitcases on every occasion that they need to be lifted (in/out of a car; in/out of an overhead bin, etc.).

Least bulky back support

I have been looking regularly for over 5 years for a good product. Bought some expensive junk over the years. Had pretty much given up the hope of even getting a wearable one. What I wasn't aware was the Maxar comes in 3 levels of quality. The Deluxe is amazing. The main body is made of a stiff mesh with metal spiral stays, and wide side straps to snug up the control. So no wrinkling, sagging, or riding up if snugly placed. Most other products narrow down too much in the front, this is not an issue with Maxar. No cutting into sides due to too narrow straps. I do recommend buying a size smaller if you are on the edge of the next size, either way. Say you are 40'' waist and the XL is 40-44, defiantly go to size L. I find wearing this 8-16 hours a day will slowly strengthen abs, and reduce the over all waist size by several inches.

High Quality Work Belt

A very high quality work belt that would have gotten 5 stars if it had metal (usually aluminum) supports in the back of the belt instead of plastic ones. The plastic supports provide fairly good support for the back, but not as good as the very light and very rigid support that aluminum supports provide. Other than that, the material and stitching is top quality, the multiple Velcro straps allow you to put the belt on then tightly secure it with the other Velcro straps. I recommend buying this, it's just that it could be perfect if they had just used metal back supports instead of plastic.

I would give them a higher rating, As in the past I had great success with them. I have lower lumbar back problems that dates back pretty far, however their size system is not accurate as I am a 33 inch waist and from their chart at 37" should be sufficient. It was not and I ended up with bruises on my hips from the medium back brace, and while complimenting them and offering to send the back brace back that was used twice, I was told I could not replace the brace as it had been used. I even offered to pay for the large brace before I sent back the other brace, but was told it would take 2 to 3weeks. Whoever is running their customer service really doesn't care about the customer, and end the end doesn't care about the customer in general. The large is actually cheaper than the medium. I actually spent more for the medium in general. I thought they would be more professional than what they have shown me, but I guess not. Good luck to them in the future, but I felt disrespected by the salesman who was handling my purchase. I tried to be polite about everything, but while they have a good product, they aren't willing to make their mistakes right. I'm 6"2 and weigh 205 lbs. there's no way my waist could ever be in the 38's. I hope they do the right thing, or they will lose a customer. Instead if saying good luck to me.

This belt was a lifesaver that helped me survive until surgery. It helped reduce my back pain so much during the day that I ended up wearing it at night, over my pajamas, too. It seemed to act as a ridged yet flexible and comfortable exoskeleton. It became part of me for two months. I tried the one from Home Depot first. Wore that until this arrived. I tried two others but they did not offer the support that this one from Maxar did. Not chinese crap; this is made in USA and the quality is certainly noticeable.

Fantastic support

This belt supports the lower back quite well and is comfortable even after several hours of wear. I do have a sizing warning for you, which is: my waist is 41 - 42", the XL Deluxe did not synch up tight enough to provide me with full back support. I traded the XL in for the Large belt and although the belt is tight, it does provide great support. If your waist is over 42" you may wish to stay with the XL belt. Bottom line, the Maxar Deluxe work belt is well constructed, provides superb lower back support and significantly increases the amount and quantity of work I can complete without excessive pain.

The best belt on Amazon I was after a belt that would support my lower back due to a prolapsed disc on L5 disc , After returning three cheaper versions made in China to Amazon I decided to purchase this particular bell which was made in the USA and after reading the great reviews decided to take the plunge I can fully recommend this bell the additional straps help support the bell and stops it from overturning on a self it also has six stays on the back which helps support the lower back it feels great on and the XL fits a 38 inch waist perfectly Don’t waste your time getting anything else this is the perfect deal very happy indeed and worth the extra pennies :-)

Although I have not used this item much so far, it is easy to use and lends good support for my back. The quality also good. Note that with this product, the support stays in the belt are made of plastic and not metal as in some belts.
