Excellent support, doesn't slip.

I have an old McDavid knee brace. Liked it very much but it eventually stretched out. I wear mine everyday when i walk the dog. Our walks are about 4 miles and we clumb hills. The first mile is a bit slow to warm up my knees. After that the pase picks up substantially. This brace really supports my knee and has all but eleminated my knee pain. Without it, my walks would be few and much slower.

Doesn't fit me

Looks like would be a great brace but doesn't fit my leg. Need one a little larger.

Exactly what was needed

My husband is wearing these every day. Takes them off to sleep of course. These braces give him enough support he is more stable walking without a cane or walker. They’re very comfortable. I didn’t give 5 stars because they are very difficult to take off. My husband came up with the idea of putting on his copper knee stocking first and then this brace is a breeze to put on and take off.

Bought to heal dislocated knee

I bought this brace to help my dislocated (for the first time) knee recover. *******I would define this brace's support level as Moderate, so purchase it with that in mind.****** Before purchasing this brace, I was using an extra knee brace my dad gave me that was an open design with 2 straps going around the back of your leg, one strap was above the knee and one was below the knee. His old-fashioned brace let me pull the straps as tight as I want, so in the early stages of my injury, his old-fashioned brace was actually way better than this one, because it let me pull the straps WAY tighter (it would give my knee much more stability, but the tightness was chafing my skin pretty badly and it was not comfortable). I could not wear this brace for the first 2-3 weeks of my injury, because while it was way more comfortable, it simply didn't provide the support I need. However, after a couple weeks once my knee got stronger I was able to walk around needing only a moderate-level of support from a brace, so at that point I switched to this brace and never looked back to the old one. It offers superior comfort and is not too thick-- I wear it every day to work under my clothes and no one has noticed! Warning: Inside of the label, it says to not wear for longer than 2-3 hours. At night time, I switch to my old-fashioned knee brace b/c it is far more open/breathable. I would not suggest sleeping in this brace because it won't let your skin breathe.

Quality as you would expect

Was a bit nervous since it seems like the quality of knee braces like this have gone down in recent years. I've been buying these since high school and have always been satisfied. Am happy to report that my brace seemed to be the same thick quality as years prior. I had quad tendonitis 2 years ago and knee hasn't felt the same. I play soccer weekly and have been looking for a sturdy brace to use. Am upset I didn't buy this a while ago as I've wastes money on lower quality braces that don't match the support this one does. My only negative is that the brace slips a bit after running in it a while so I have to tighten the straps every so often.

Nice fit, reasonable price, feels good & seems to help

I got this 2 strap version to use at the gym and while working out in the yard. Just rec'd and made one trip to the gym. I'll update / edit later if my opinion changes. The brace did not slip down at all while doing elliptical at the gym. The straps kept it in place, unlike my older strapless neoprene sleeve. The side 'springs' seem to add some stability to this as well. I have a bulkier / sturdier / expensive Corflex hinged braced from the VA and this is almost as good for support or pain relief. This less costly ($23) one from McDavid will be great if it lasts 6-12 months of rugged wear. I did not feel restricted while wearing at the gym. I think this is the same as the Shock Doctor brand. The brace did have a rubbery odor when I unpackaged it. I hosed it down with Lysol and its fine now. I measured approx 17-17.5 / XL and its pretty snug. I may opt for XXL when I have to replace this one. I would think one could order up and use the straps to tighten it without any trouble.

Great product

Ruptured my right patellar tendon Oct 13 2020. started wearing this under my mobility brace. I found there was enough support to just wear the McDavid without the mobility brace. most of the time. Reduces swelling, really centers the knee cap and really stabilizes the knee even when doing stairs. Reasonably slim design, love it and recommend it for a firmer moderate support and rehab from knee injury.

Excellent Product

I wore one of these on each knee during a recent 15 mile hike, with a total 4500m elevation, I struggle with my knees when descending slopes and there was a lot to go up and a lot to go down. I did the same hike two weeks before abs suffered with my ACL, when I made the hike using these I managed without any problem. I totally recommend these, they are comfortable, can be worn during exercise (obviously depends what you are doing, I saw one negative feedback here from a guy wearing them during kickboxing! Kind of obvious to me that they wouldn’t be too good in that scenario). They wash well, stretch well, breath well (no bad odour or unsightly skin after use) and they support well. They are also not big and bulky and fit well under trousers. Excellent product
