Great grab bar~ installed several

I have installed several of them for my mom and myself. I’m a nurse and a paramedic, falls are one of the worse things. You don’t have to be old to fall…kids fall too…so don’t look at the price$…what would be the price of a fall to someone you love or even yourself? Moen put the rubber grip on the underside of the bar which it so important because when you’re hands are wet and soapy you don’t want to depend on your grip strength on a smooth chrome bar to catch your fall, you need the rubber underside to grab onto! Smart design!! I won’t buy any other grab bar.

This Makes 5 Installed

I had already installed four of these in our shower to make things easier for my wife. She asked for one more, so there was no question about what brand and style it would be. The trick with a tiled wall is always finding the stud, but since I had already installed one bar on that side, it was a piece of cake (assuming the builder had actually placed the next stud 16" away). I really love the bracket design Moen has created; it makes it relatively easy to drive three screws into each bracket for a truly secure grab bar. My only suggestion: ignore their idea of using a hand Phillips to drive the screws. You've already drilled 1/8" pilot holes so go ahead and soap up the screws and use your power drill to do the job.

Finger grips on the inside

The grab bar has finger grips on the inside to help keep grip from sliding. A plus over bars that are solid metal.

Great grab, bar easy install.

I really like this Moen grab bar it’s beautiful & strong. Since their was no studs at location their Moen secure mounts was perfect for this install. Just watch YouTube for many examples and great tips. Also remember if you must adjust/turn the slotted and regular holes on grab bar itself.Look at plate were screws screw through, it’s easy. Their are 3 small Allen wrench screws on the grab bar to loosen than adjust. (See last picture next to a blue Kobalt 1 & 1/4 diamond drill bit.) I took of escutcheon plate for you to see easier. Remember not many manufacturers offer an adjustable plate. Go Moen

Great Safety Bar

I installed one in each shower and one in front of the toilet in the master bedroom. After an injury I realized I needed a stable hand hold to avoid slipping and for bending assistance. I made sure to attach directly to the studs. Finding the studs under tile and grout turned out to be the most difficult part of the installation but that has nothing to do with this manufacturer or any other manufacturer.

Screw heads too soft

Works well and looks great. The screws included were soft and stripped right away. We got different ones and that worked. I like the grips on the backside of the bar too.

Great item and tax free

We renovated the tub/shower area of our bathroom and wanted to install some assist bars. This is one of the few available in our preferred finished of brushed nickel and is a quality item. I was able to find this product at one of the big box stores but learned that HST would be charged. I then found it on Amazon and determined there would be no tax collected because this type of assistive device (bathroom safety equipment) is zero-tax-rated.

Sturdy

Very sturdy, easy to install!! Worth the investment!! Make sure to have a solid backing to attach it to though. Gypsum board alone won't cut it. I had blocking installed in my wall during construction for this and for the towel bars.
