Great, but a little small...
I tore my lateral and medial meniscus. Not sure how much, but I'm in pain all the time. I got this knee brace because I believed the hinges would help my knee not go left/right (a.k.a, the wrong way) when walking. It doesn't happen very often, but it's extremely painful and something I would rather not experience. Anyway, I measured my knee and it just happened to be in the "small" size range. I decided to get a medium because I had read reviews in which people had said to get one size up. I'm glad I got the medium, but the bottom part is tight on my leg (below the kneecap) as is. I don't think the small would have fit at all. I'm 6ft 3, and I weigh about 180 pounds. So, I'm rather tall and skinny. I've only had this product about a day, but when I put it on it feels absolutely amazing. My only problem with it is since it helps keep my knee somewhat straight when walking, I find it feels a little odd. I don't walk like a normal person...more like a penguin (or so I'm told). But, I've been pain free all day and I'm going to keep using it and see how it goes. I'm not going to give it 5-stars yet until I've had more time with it, however. (But, right now, I love it!) EDIT 12/7/2011: I've been using this brace for about a week, and I can tell you it's STILL amazing. I've found myself thinking about not wearing it because there's no way it hurts so much without it. Seriously. But, I still wear it because after a long day, my knee will start aching a little. Not enough to make me worried, but enough to remind me. And, of course, it doesn't help with the stiffness I get when I sit for too long. But, overall I would recommend this to anyone with meniscus problems. I can't recommend this product for ACL, PCL, or MCL problems, as mine are fine...as far as I can tell. EDIT 9/7/2013: I've had this brace for just shy of 2 years and it's been wonderful. Unfortunately, it's time to get another. I wore mine almost every day, 8+ hours a day while at work, so I've managed to wear it out. I work in a store, so I'm walking around constantly. It DOES squeak, but I've never had anyone ask me why I'm squeaky, lol. If you wear it every day, make sure to wash it. The material will stretch after several days, and washing it will not only clean it, but make the material go back to the original snugnesss. Although, you may want to take out the hinges before you wash it, as I've noticed after about a year that the hinges will fall out (especially if you lose the cover piece that goes directly over the hinge). I've read a few reviews where people did not like this brace and recommended others. The braces recommended by others are heavy duty and may not fit under one's pants, so if you're looking for one that you can conceal under your clothes, this has been the best choice I've found. In all, 2 years later, the Mueller Hg80 Hinged Knee Brace is still my #1 choice, however I've recently been looking at theShock Doctor Ultra Knee Supporter with Bilateral Hinges (Black) , as well.

You don't sweat!
I'm amazed how good built this is, and also you don't sweat! Very comfortable, I wish it was stiffer.

That they do have a tendency to squeak over time at the hidges
I really feel that they really support my knee better than the other brace I had but after a month the brace started to squeak with every step right at the hinge and especially when I bent down to pick something up...trying real hard not to let it annoy me because my knee feels so much better with it on. I contacted the seller and since they do not allow any returns they suggested applying coconut oil to the hinge which is not easy to do..The new one I got just a couple of days ago which is a Med to wear over my jeans started the squeak with the very first step,, not happy at all....Please let me know if anyone else is having the same problem

Fits snag and feels great
Only just got it. It replaced one just like it that was several years old and the Velcro flaps were wearing out.. I expect it to work great, just like my old one.

but still allow for a good amount of bending
I recently dislocated my patella and tore some surrounding ligaments in my knee. After searching through Amazon reviews of multiple braces, I decided on this one. The metal hinges prevent any sideways motion, but still allow for a good amount of bending. The patella support seems to help a bit, but I don't notice that as much. Some reviewers claim the sleeve slides down their leg, but I have not had this issue. It all depends on your leg measurements and what size you buy. I couldn't decide between a medium and a large - my knee measured in what should be a medium, but I know I am more muscular and therefore a medium might be tight around the top and bottom (15" knee measurement, 16.5" calves, 21" lower quad). Based on previous reviews of it tending to slide down, I decided to just try the medium anyway, in case the large was too big. It was super hard to get on the first time, but once I managed to get it on that initial time, it went on easier after that. And it does not slide off at all, after a week of wearing it. It provides plenty of support without adding too much bulkiness. For the price, I don't think you could find a better brace.

Very Good Reasonably Priced Sports Brace
For $40, this brace is quite good and lives up to it's billing. I play soccer and use this brace while playing and afterwards when I'm on my feet a lot and need added support. Pro's = 1) metal hinge articulates well and is padded in case you need to play a team sport and pass the "ref inspection" 2) The sleeve is light and breathable as advertised (haven't had to wash it yet) 3) has rubberized grip strips in the inside @ top & bottom that limit slippage 4) only time will tell but Dr prescribed braces I've had (Ossur, ProCare) tend to have stitched pockets on top outside that the hinge slides into that come undone over time under the stress of running a lot -- this one seems more hearty/reinforced Con's = 1) the Velcro straps above and below the knee that allow for variable adjustment don't allow you to cinch the top one very tight if needed 2) on my knee, the brace seems to naturally settle a tad low so the patella support doesn't quite allign. Ultimately, this seems to be a great brace for the $'s if you play a sport.

Another great product from Mueller
I bought this knee support (a pair actually) to replace an existing Mueller product that I have used for a number of years. I use the knee supports for skiing as over the years my knees have become progressively weaker. I recently lost a lot of weight and so the old Mueller knee supports were too large for me hence the new purchase. I’ve not had a chance to use the new supports on the ski slopes but I’ve tried them on. They fit me really well, the support seems to be the same if not better than the older knee supports. But perhaps most significantly they are more comfortable and the straps are a lot easier to use than the old ones. So thanks Mueller. Thanks also to Amazon. The knee supports were shipped to the UK and arrived 4 days earlier than I was expecting.

Does the job but is a little tricky getting it on
This is a very comfortable knee brace, and not as bulky as other ones I have had. It is a little bit tricky getting it on. It doesn't stretch a lot but if it was bigger once it was on it would be too large. So I went with the medium instead of the small. It still takes a bit but is comfortable. Because it needs to be a bit larger it could do with a longer piece of valcro

Good support great fit cheap price
Bought 12mths post ACL repair to use for support when skiing. Worked well. Only bad thing was that you need leggings or similar underneath as the the join on the inner thigh had a pressure but with thermals or leggings it was fine.

More of a "Placebo" support. Medium effort. Good value for money
This is the cheapest mechanically hinged knee brace I could find. It does the job. Kind of. The hinges flail out sideways and don't quite effectively support the knee. More like a "placedo" of support. You will need to apply additional raps to keep the metal hinges in place.
