Works but not quite what I expected
I asked the seller where the belt was made, before I purchased it. Made in USA! The interesting thing is that it does not say "Oregon" on the package, it is "Stens". This belt is not as deep as the real John Deere M47765 belt I had. This one belt is driven by a pulley on the engine and drives the pulley on the deck. The engine has a horizontal shaft and the deck has a vertical shaft. The belt goes through a series of twists and idler pulleys to make a 90 degree twist. I was afraid that it would have trouble staying in the groove on the mower because it is not as deep as the John Deere belt. I have mowed my lawn twice so far, 1.5-2 hrs each time, and the belt has worked perfectly. I have comparison photos but this doesn't give me the option to attach.

Oregon belt 75-973 is not an exact replacement.
This belt was a disappointment. I bought it in August 2016, mowed a couple of time, then it was winter, spring came and I mowed a couple more times when I started to have problems with the belt. It would flip upside down in the pulleys and eventually chewed itself to death. The belt is the correct length, correct width, but I believe that it is the correct depth. (only 1/2" deep). The correct John Deere belt is greater than 1/2" deep which may explain why the Oregon belt flipped over.

I do not recommend this for heavy duty drive systems
Used this belt one time for mower drive belt. It stretched out to the point it would no longer drive the triple blade mower deck on my tractor. It may have helped if I had understood the meaning of "genuine JOHN DEERE replacement", as being a genuine replacement belt. I do not recommend this for heavy duty drive systems.

John Deere Belt
This product is not made as good as original John Deere product The beveled part of the belt is not nearly as deep as the original and the belt has to go through many twists and turns as it goes through its cycle. It is poorer quality than original and several of my friends agreed

FAILED AFTER ONE MONTH
I liked the price of this product, but now I know why it's cheap. After little more than a month of mowing, it STRETCHED OUT and was thrown off the pulleys. Piece of junk, waste of money. I'm going back to using a John Deere belt. Compare the two and the difference is obvious. JD is much better made--thicker and sturdier.
