Fits a half-kilo of coffee with room to spare

My Daughter has pull-out drawers in her entire kitchen, with dozens of these in the drawers with labels on tops. It effectively uses nearly 100% of the drawer space in a way that's trivially easy to tell what's what and get to the contents, because the pop-up seal release is the handle. So I gave this a try, even though I don't have a nice setup like she does. I was using a glass peanut butter jar for coffee, but the entre half kilo wouldn't fit in there, so I got this larger OXO container to see how that works. It works beautifully! My only nit, and it is a nit, is the plastic accumulates static charge and the coffee grounds stick to the sides. Given that's the worst I can come up with I'd call this one knocked out of the park ... or at least a home run. Since I don't store liquid in it I can't report how good it works for that.

Nice containers

These are really nice containers in theory. They look nice and they have nice attachments that can fit under the lid, and they're great for storage. I would not, however, call them airtight. You're supposed to have to click the button to get the lid off, but I can pull all of mine off without clicking the button. In fact, one of them it's as easy to pull off the lid without clicking the button as it is with clicking the button. For the price, you can definitely get better containers. I decided to keep mine because I don't really need something COMPLETELY airtight (fairly airtight is good enough for my purposes). Plus, these were the only size that fit perfectly in my cabinet. The other con is that delivery of the items seems to be a mess. I ordered a couple initially, and one came shattered, and another came in the wrong size AND without a lid. When I complained to OXO, the woman didn't even apologize and just routinely gave me the instructions, as if she deals with this all day every day. Based on the reviews here, I'm guessing she probably does deal with this a lot. And then amazon made me mail the shattered and wrong one back, even though I had pics of them clearly being unusable. I wish they would have just let me chuck them instead of having to bring it to UPS which isn't even close to me... so just be prepared for that too!

Keeps foods FRESH!

My first test was a bag of potato chips, I filled with a bag of chips and 2 weeks later they were yes they were still as fresh as the day I bought them (what little I had left!) I have since bought several more to not only organize my Pantry but to help keep all my foods fresh!

good sturdy containers

These oxo airtight containers do not break when dropped. Many of these type of containers break even if they are knocked over on a counter. The container has a big button on top that you push down to make it airtight, however they probably don`t remove the air that is already in the container. I noticed that there is no slot to remove air when you push in the big button so there is no way to remove air already in container.I wish they had one that you could vacuum seal it. This is a good container for gourmet coffee.

Just What I Needed!

The 1.1 Qt. was too small to hold 2 pounds of rice, (it will hold 1 Lb. of rice easily). This container, the 1.7 Qt. holds 2 Lbs. of Carolina brand rice with enough room for the lid to be inserted. The container was wiped clean & dried before I poured in the rice. I purchased 2 containers & they are stackable. OXO makes a great product.

Great for Coffee

I received this as a Christmas gift for my coffee beans. It's the perfect size to fit a small bag of beans, probably a pound or 2. Keeps the coffee as fresh as the day you opened the bag. I'm a happy Momma.

Great Quality

Very good quality, great for storage small goods or powder. Easily use, just push down the button above. Dishwasher friendly. And it seals pretty tight. Recommended

Great storage container

I love my OXO food storage containers however the only negative thing I have to say is that they are expensive. They work better than cheaper containers found on Amazon in that they are more air tight and more durable but buying them is certainly an investment. I do recommend them but be careful to buy the right width. OXO has recently changed their containers from a wider width to a narrower width so if you have the old ones and are adding to your collection, check dimensions before buying.

Used this for baking soda. These containers are awesome. Airtight seal every time. Easy to clean.

Works

It works as it should and easy to clean but the one i recieved has signs of being opened and possibly being used due to scuffs and scratches on the plastic and if so then quality control needs to be better. I will keep it this time but not the next.

Great to Store Baby Formula

I’m a big fan of Oxo Storage Jars so when I got sick of messing round with the cardboard box and foil bag combo our baby’s formula comes in I ordered this to use instead. It’s not as easy to take apart and put back together to clean as the original design jars but is much sleeker and seems to be easier to dry (not so many places for water to hide) so I’m not bothered. It holds 800g of baby formula (comes right to the very top) and keeps it super fresh and as it’s easy to clean you don’t have to worry about waiting to refill after the har runs dry! You can attach tools such as a scoop or scoop leveller (also from oxo) inside too so you never lose an accessory and it’s a nice compact size too. No complaints here!
