Creativity necessary
The only way this works is for me to remove the little battery door and press on the battery with a finger, so it makes contact. We cut some cardboard, to size, to press on the battery, so contact is made when the little door is slid in. I was ready to return this, so, hopefully, now it will continue to work. It does seem to adequately register temp. and humidity near my orchid.

OK for the money
I bought two of these. Hard to tell if they are accurate. They agree with each other, but not with another thermometer I have in my house. Not sure which are correct. After only two weeks, one of them no longer gives the high and low readings like it is supposed to. For me that feature isn't important.

Not for Greenhouses?
I put this thermometer in my greenhouse because I wanted to make sure it wasn't getting too hot in there, but within a day, this little gadget had died. Done. No power. My plants were doing fine (although spring had hit so they did come out shortly after that) but this thing was not.

Disappointed
Bought this hygo-thermometer on the reviews, but it hasn't worked well. When compared to another thermomemter/hydrometer that I know is accurate, temperature readings are right on, but humidity readings are all over the place. Since I bought this item primarily to read humidity, I can't recommend it. The only thing I do like about this device is that the read-out is large and clear for its small size, but other than that, hasn't worked as advertised.

Hmmm...
Temp is dead on with other temp gauges in the house. Humidity is the highest by 7% above the other 3 I have. It appears you may need to spend more $ for better accuracy.

POOR
Pure garbage. Dont waste your money I ordered 4 of them only 2 worked. With one of the two that worked I had to place paper in the battery compartment to push the battery forward to make contact. This one stopped working after 2 weeks so I am left with 1 of 4 working that I purchased. They are total junk, cheap and crappy. I went out and purchased an Acu-Rite at home depot that was the same price and a million times better I think they even sell them on Amazon.

Has worked great for almost two years now
I purchased four of these from Amazon in June 2012. Only in the past few weeks have I noticed the displays starting to Dim. The batteries have lasted almost two years and are only now getting low enough to affect the display. I have one in my car, one in my refrigerator, one in the laundry room, and one in the utility room. They have all worked great for humidity and temperature in those locations. I just ordered some replacement batteries for them from Amazon. Only $2.11 for ten LR44 batteries is inexpensive. So for the size and price the P3 P0250 MIni Hygo-Thermometer has been well worth it.

best hygrometer you'll ever buy in this price range.
It's small, it's simple and easy to use, and it feels well designed and made to last. I've spent a lot more on a hygrometer in the past that felt flimsy and acted flakey. This one is small and seems to be fairly accurate. I use it to monitor my large iguana's room for heat and humidity. It works perfectly and the min/max settings are very handy to monitor her environment with an eagle's eye. I'm getting one more of these for a meat locker I'm building for making smoked meats. Yay!
