Great strap for 2 kayaks!

Perfect fit! I can easily strap down 2 Kayaks in the bed of an F150. I used a figure eight pattern and connected through the existing tie down locations. Plenty of slack left for other items, coolers etc. Five stars!

Better than expected

We use our tie-down straps to transport two or three SUP boards on our van. I was concerned about the bumper on the buckle and how it would function and how protective they actually were. They work great and held our boards down on the highway. Also, we no longer have the crossbars on our van and are simply using pool noodles now. Again, I was concerned but the new tie-down straps worked great.

Great

Pretty pricey but I was willing to pay it for the piece of mind. The rubber around the buckles don't seem to get loose like similar buckles do and the sewn-in velcro that keeps the straps wrapped up when in storage is a godsend.

Nice Straps

I was looking for some nice straps to hold my valuable Martin Guitar onto my Xtracycle to ride to jam sessions. These are perfect! They have a rubber covering around the metal buckle that protects my case nicely, the buckles hold their tension. Great price, quality straps!

Just what I needed

It does what it suppose to do. Put my kayak 13 feet long and 50lbs on my roof top. Drove 60 miles without any slight movement. Happy with the purchase.

Don't rely on these for a heavy load.

The product is okay, but I would not recommend for heavy duty use. We used these straps to tie down the body of our canoe to the roof of our car for a recent camping trip... The latches on both the Pelican straps slipped a tiny bit; enough that the canoe would have not been secure to the car. Luckily, we had two other sturdier straps that were able to keep the canoe down at the front and back of the car. I would never rely on these straps alone to secure a heavy load. If you have a light load these are perfect. Nice length, nice velcro strap to keep organized and nice rubber cover for protecting your car/equipment from the metal latch.

Better than expected

Love these straps. Use them to haul my 17 foot canoe around. They have small velcro straps to wrap up the excess. No more looping and tying the straps to other things. Just a side note for anyone new to this stuff. You should check your straps every 2-300kms of driving. New straps of any brand will stretch, sun beating down on them and rain can effect them. After a couple uses they're fine. Should still check them during long road trips.

Cut and frayed upon first use

Used these along two Yakima straps to hold down two kayaks on a recent trip. The trip was a fourth for the Yakima straps and a maiden voyage for the Pelicans. Both Pelican straps, doing identical jobs and pressure points to the Yakima, had small cuts that became larger and then frayed. The pressure points were simply the plastic of the kayak and not sharp. Great release/locking mechanism but clearly inferior strapping to what Yakima uses (which were sold out so we went Pelican).

Awesome straps, great on the hiway good value

These straps are great for tie down on my kayaks, we used them several times this summer travelling to the mountains on hiways and in strong headwinds. Never had to stop and re secure them once awesome straps!

Easy and strong

I bought 2 to secure my inflatable paddle board to the roof rack on my car for short distances, and they work great. Very solid and love the fact that the metal part is covered in rubber so no worries about scratching the car.
