De Perky-Pet Top-Fill Glass Oriole Feeder is de ideale voerkeuze voor wielewaalliefhebbers. Orioles are not graceful
I love perky pet products, but this one confounds me. Orioles are clumsy when they land and this feeder has feeding flutes and perches that spin around. Why? These need to be fixed in place because every time you look at the feeder the perches are in the wrong place…again. So, I used Lexel, a clear sealant that sticks to about anything to fix the spinning perches in place and -Viola- the orioles come, eat, and leave without moving the perches. The manufacturer has got to solve this, but if you are handy, you can solve this annoying manufacturing flaw yourself! My first disappointment in perky pets products.

Great Birdfeeder
This is a very well made product,we bought it for the Hooded Orioles,but it is also enjoyed by the Gila Woodpeckers and all sorts of Hummingbirds.Best birdfeeder I have ever purchased.

Love the amount of sugar water that it holds and the glass container is easy to clean.
I bought this feeder for orioles, but hummers will drink from it as well.

Not a happy camper
I like how big and easy the fill opening is but the foot perches for the orioles aren’t secure and after using once, pushing off to fly, makes them unusable.

I will come back to update this review. Because this feeder is brand new the orioles didn’t use it for about a week. They are used to the other feeders with a ring-style perch and it does take a bit of time for them to adjust to a different perch. I did notice they had some discomfort with the perches in that they couldn’t easily shift from feeding port to port—they’d have to fly to move to the next perch. For that reason I gave 4 stars. The feeder has been visited by orioles and hummingbirds so far. I’m sure butterflies will find it as well. They do sip nectar from my other feeders. I love that the feeder is glass which is much more reliable than plastic. With the glass screwed into the base, you lift the lid off and pour to fill. The lid on the glass is suctioned to stay in place so you can't turn the unit upside down or the lid will come off. This isn't a problem. The grape jelly was washed away the first night from rain but in other areas, with less rain, it could be good. The orioles feed mostly on the Concord grape jelly which I have in feeders and also try the nectar. The parent birds have introduced their offspring who are learning insect catching and the juveniles visit the feeders a lot which is fun to watch. I have Baltimore and Orchard Orioles that come, No leakage so far and that's my biggest issue with the other feeders. I did buy a second feeder.

Orioles and Humming birds love it
We noticed an Oriole visited our old humming bird feeder and we wanted to attract / keep them coming so we bought this feeder. The Orioles love visiting and we have several visiting now and the humming birds started visiting this feeder all the time so we just use this one now. The Orioles did feed off oranges that we put on the spike and now they are feeding almost exclusively on some grape jelly that we put in the little cup. Apparently they will start on the nectar later in their nesting cycle (before switching over to insects). We like that it accommodates several of the feeding cycles that the Orioles go through and also accommodates the humming birds.

Birds hate it
I only use the feeder for sugar solution and the birds do not like. The liquid is not visible in the holes, perhaps it flows there when the birds land on it but the orioles haven't had any luck with it at all. The hummingbirds try it occasionally but seem to prefer the other feeders that we have. This is in a spot that has always been the favoured place. Even the hornets aren't using it! I haven't been able to get the bottom apart for a decent cleaning.

Absolutely PERFECT!!!
Have been looking for top fill bird feeders for nectar for ages and this one ticks all the boxes! Easy to fill and clean without spilling nectar all over! Also has built in prevention against ants and wasps/bees entering the feeder. Highly recommend!!!

Dissapointing
The feeding ports are so small that only the hummingbirds use it. The orioles tried all sorts of tricks trying to get at the nectar but the design of the holes is far too small. My husband had to get out his electric drill and enlarge them. We shall see if the orioles come back next season or if they have abandoned us forever. It is easy to clean, is easy to hang up and seems sturdy as long as you do not drop it as the jar and lid are glass.
