This is perfect, if you have the room.
Our bedroom just wasn’t big enough to accommodate the size of these stairs. I love the concept but wish they made a narrower version. We ultimately had to return. With that said, they’re of excellent quality. East to assemble, and the dogs (Boston terrier pups) loved it. It was just too big for our space.

The Reward Made These Well Worth The Effort!
I researched various steps long and hard before deciding on these and am so happy I chose them! I have an aging Border Terrier who lately, has found it more difficult to jump up and down from our bed. Wanting to protect his joints, and keep him from those nasty falls he has been having while attempting the leap to the bed or his favorite resting spot in front of the window, I decided to bite the bullet and buy these. I must admit, I found them to be a bit pricey initially but figured, if it protects my baby from pain and saves me on vet bills later, then why not invest in them? That being said, let's talk about the steps! I found assembly to be difficult for the first 30 minutes. Once I got the hang of it, I felt really silly that it had taken me that long because I could have had the steps completely assembled in probably 15 or 20 minutes flat had the directions not left out one important detail. This made things more complicated than it needed to be. I will say that you should DEFINITELY start the assembly by lying all the pieces out on the floor beforehand, like the instructions suggest and familiarize yourself with the letters on the pieces. Once you do that, the assembly process becomes a "snap," literally. The thing that threw me off was that the pieces did not seem to line up correctly and made it look as it there was a huge gap in the step. This also threw off the fit of the next piece. What should have been mentioned up front in the directions was this little nugget: ORIENTATION and LETTER COORDINATION! For instance, most pieces, such as the risers for example, are marked A on one end and B on the other end of that same piece. As you are connecting each piece to the next, make sure the letters match up. Each peg of a piece that you snap into a hole, should have the same letter corresponding to it at the entry point of the hole it is being snapped into. If the letters don't match, then assembly will become much harder than needed. If you lay all your pieces out before hand, use the "matching letters" as a guide that you are assembling correctly and follow the instructions step by step, you should be just fine putting it together solo in no time. From unboxing to assembly, it took me about 30 minutes to assemble the 2 step portion and then only about 10 minutes to assemble the larger, 3 step portion, as by then, I had figured out my error and gotten the hang of it. The end result, a set of very sturdy steps that were well worth the effort! My dog was leery of use initially but after a few bribes with treats each trip up and down the steps, he figured it out in about 10 minutes. He was still timid about coming down the steps for the first two days and would jump off the bed the regular way half the time. But by the end of day two, I started to noticed that he was making the descent on his own using each step and at a normal pace...no more jumping to (and missing) or falling from the bed at all. This 11 year old senior "pup" is now one happy camper! He can get to his favorite places without injury or sitting at the foot of the bed, begging his mom for a lift! I say take the plunge and invest because let's face it, when our fur babies are happy, we're happy! :-)

Helps
We love the stairs for our 54 pd dog who had a hard time jumping on a king bed. He is to heavy for my daughter and I to lift each time. Tried ramps but they did not work. The stairs work great and it only took a few times for him to get the hang of them. Easy to assemble for my husband.

I bought this for my nephew-pup after my bed was raised to 3’ and he could no longer jump onto my bed. I also realized that the jump down would be hard on him, especially since he comes and visits me several times a day. I decided to go with this product because of the depth and width of the stairs. Although it would take up a lot more space than other options, the configuration seemed a lot more sturdy than most product lines available. Toby, my nephew-pup, is a tall mini schnauzer, 4 human years old, sensitive to unusual or loud noises, and is quite timid toward new things. I knew if I was going to buy him something there needed to be carpeting that couldn’t slip and the stairs needed to be really sturdy if he was going to give them a real try. The stairs are hollow, so I also made sure I didn’t pound on them when training him to use them. It took him a day to feel comfortable going up, I used a lot of treats in trails. It seemed he was a lot more scared of going down them than going up and during that first day he was more interested in me carrying him off the bed than wanting to try to get down using the stairs, and he really really hates being picked up. Thankfully, the confidence/comfort he developed going up the stairs allowed him to get over his fear of going down the stairs. The second day he only got treats if he went down the stairs. It took him almost the entire day to get up the courage to go down the stairs. It was hard to let him take his time and have patience with his slow progress. I didn’t think forcing him was a good idea because it could have hindered his willingness to ever try and could have exacerbated his fear. By the third day of training we were working on him remembering there were stairs for him to use to get down (instead of jumping off the bed) when he got excited that someone came home or a visitor was at the door. That took about a week because all of his instincts were telling him that he needed to get to the front door and greet people as fast as he can. It’s been several weeks since I assembled them and now he uses them like a pro, even caught him hanging out on them a couple of times. *Tip- the storage area is great and does make up for most of the size. You need to make sure the storage door, which is located on the back of the top step, is shut all the way because it significantly contributes to the sturdiness of the top stairs. The door does fit snug and needs to be gently pushed into place, it isn’t designed to close all the way on its own, but that also means it does not pop open by itself either. The first time I got Toby onto the top stair to try to go back down, the door wasn’t closed all the way, he was shaking pretty bad from nervousness and he shook the stairs so bad he jumped back onto the bed and had no desire to try going down the stairs again on the first day. I think it contributed to how long it took him to feel comfortable trying to go down the stairs again. In all the research I did, nothing I read told me to make sure the door was secure. This product is definitely worth the cost and I hope it saves him from injuries and premature wear and tear in his joints. He’s worth it. Assembling was really easy and the instructions were written very well. I’m currently going through chemo treatments, so I’m extremely weak, and I still didn’t have any problem assembling by myself. The only complaint I have is that there aren’t better choices in color. Toby and I are very happy and grateful we found this product. Thank you Pet Gear! If anyone has questions from a consumer about this product, feel free to contact me on amazon. Bekah and Toby

This has been the best pet purchase so far
We have a standard poodle puppy and I was getting weary of putting her on the bed and then putting her down on the floor. We got the stairs hoping she would get the hang of them, and she caught on right away. She weighed much less when we got the stairs and now she weighs 30 pounds and still gets lots of use out of them. I'm so glad we got them. Also, these wrap around the foot of the bed so the stairs don't stick out into the middle of the room and make a tripping hazard.

Works like a charm
I bought this for my 3 yr old mini schnauzer and she took to it in a couple of days. It's easy to assemble, very sturdy, doesn't flop around or slide when she's climbing up or down and our bed is higher than standard. The one thing for future design would be to add a little extra cushion on the carpeting, and more color options. Other than that it's perfect for small dogs and senior dogs.

Safe stairs
My dog absolutely loves the steps. Wide and gradual distance that improved his sense of stability. Now he flies up and down the bed.

Product serves its purpose. Not impressed with the seller
It arrived in a large box with a few smaller pieces in white garbage bags. There was no other packing material and the larger pieces were somewhat scuffed up. There were no assembly instructions or even an invoice. Not impressed, however, it does serve the purpose and my toy poodle is using it.

Our cat loves these stairs
My husband and I actually thought the stairs were made out of wood. It was a surprise to see that they are plastic. However, we love them. So easy to put together. The stairs are on an angle and our cat gets up and down them so easily.

Stairway to bedtime
These stairs worked out so well. Our 2 dachshunds go up and down them with ease. They took to them right away. I like the fact that they are light, makes it easy to move them when it's time to make the bed.

I am extremely happy with this purchase
I don't have to worry about my Lucy jumping off my new bed, which is quite a bit higher than the old one, and fracturing a leg. She can get up and down whenever she pleases now and it took no time at all for her to start using the stairs. I am extremely happy with this purchase!
