Works great, noisy if you're using in an RV/camper van
This fruit hammock fit the bill for our van that we live in full-time. However, if you're using this in an RV/motorhome, note when the hammock swings back and forth while you're driving, the wood rod rubs against the metal hooks and makes a loud noise. We joked that it sounded like we had a seal or a donkey in our van. We solved this by wrapping rubber bands around the groove in the wood rod where the hooks rest. It also doubles as a paper towel holder by sliding the paper towel roll onto the wooden rod (only works w/ small rolls of paper towels, aka not jumbo size). Also the hammock (netting) part is a woven synthetic material, it's not cotton. I was initially disappointed by this however when a pear got completely crushed into the hammock I was thankful we were able to clean it off easily. On that note, some types of produce can't hang (pun intended) in this hammock, tomatoes, pears, peaches tend to get crushed/sliced by the netting. Again this is if you're using it in a RV/home on wheels situation where the hammock ends up swinging while you're during.

Fragile, can hold fruit but not too heavy.
I placed about 6 apples, too heavy. It’s okay for banana, fruit that’s not too heavy.

Exactly what I wanted
It’s very cute. Larger than what I thought it would be, which is a good thing I painted mine pink to match my kitchen. It literally looks like a mini Hamic that a person would use. Absolutely love it. Love it. I have noticed cents using it my bananas do last a little longer.

Great for our boat with one draw back but easily overcome
Overall these worked great. Got two for the produce on our boat. Just did an 11 day trip and loved them. I read the reviews about the string falling apart. If you look at it there is the actual net that hangs from the wooden dowel and then a separate string that hangs the dowel. The fault is in that string. The loops will pull out of that easily. Before I took it to the boat I spent about 20 minutes using a needle to run thread back and forth through the two parts of the string that make that loop. It was very strong when I was done. When I installed them on the boat I ended up just screwing the brass hooks that the nets came with into the wall of the boat cabin. I hung the hammocks directly from the hooks and didn't even use the wooden dowels or the strings that I fortified. The hooks have about a 3/8-1/2" wood thread on them. I wasn't sure they would have enough bight to hold the hammocks with the weight of the food and the leverage of the long hook. But we filled each one with fruits and veggies and they felt stable. There is a bit of a flange at the top of the threads that I believe adds to the stability. Be mindful of what goes where though. I made sure the tomatoes weren't on the bottom but they were in the back. After 8 hours of swinging into the wall behind it one of them smashed and ran all over the place. Other than that they worked great and we love them.

Very cute and practical
The media could not be loaded. So cute on my island counter top. Holds more fruit than I expected and more importantly doesn’t cause them to mold quickly like some others fruit baskets do.

Spiffy place to corral stuff when underway
I like it. I've seen these in Cabellas (for lots more money!) and bought this one when I found it at a discount. The quality is pretty good -- although some reviewers had an issue with the knots I had none. The netting goes on the inner ring. Outer is for the (included) "J" hooks that you are supposed to screw into the bottom of a cabinet. Well, aboard Seaweed I have no cabinets so I got rid of their cheap hooks (okay, they are large, but not great quality) I live on a boat and as these are marketed to RVer's the lack of stainless hardware cannot be a deciding point in a review -- I'm not the target audience/buyer. Instead, I used some small stainless eye-screws in the overhead by my aft bulkhead. Then I added a braided nylon 1/8" 12-strand line and tied it the proper length. For me, because I intend to put fruit in it, that was not at the ceiling. Heat rises. Mine's lower, just above the microwave. You may wonder why this instead of a bowl. Well, I use my boat. That means I'm underway often. When the boat rocks I do not want things falling. This wonder basket allows me to corral items and they won't fall if the boat rocks. I like it. It looks spiffy too... not cheap looking. I am glad I bought it and would recommend it to other boaters. Someday I'll do so "officially" on my website! :)

Flawed but still good
Everyone that says thing falls aprt is right. The way it happend with mine is this: I knew that it may fall apart, so I planned on inspecting it before we hung it up. However, the package came while I was out and my boyfriend installed it and filled it with 4-5 big nectariines and several plums. When I came home I unhooked it and was inspecting to see how I would use it as a paper towel holder as well as another reviewer mentioned. (This is easy to do and very handy for me. Thanks to the reviwer that discovered that.) While I was looking at the basket with the fruit resting on the counter, I could feel the slippery rope unloop itself and slip through my hands. Luckily my fruit was resting on the counter. So here was my fix: I relooped the rope over the wooden bar and took white thread and stitched the loop together like a million times. I did it on the other side too before it had a chance to slip out. All that said, this fruit hammock is rad and it wasn't like $30, so I'm okay with what I had to do to make it work. But you should expect it to break if you don't reinforce the loops that go over the wooden bar.

Super cute fruit hammock
Fun way to hold fruit. Not only is it cute but Learned also that having the hammock allows the fruit to ripen evenly due to air/light circulation around the fruit! Or so they say..... Only negative is that the attachment rings were a little flimsy and the clasps kept slipping. A key ring would easily fix the problem or just use the hammock loops.

Best thing I own
Do you like fruit? Do you like bad jokes? Do you have friends? Do they hate your bad jokes? If you answered Yes to at least 3 of these, then you need... The Banana Hammock. The cornerstone of my humour since I bought it. The joy in my morning as I whisper it's name to myself. The first thing I introduce to house guests. (Bonus: it's a great way to immediately determine how long you wish to keep the house guest by their reaction to this joke.) Assembly? Decently easy. Structure? Decently sturdy. Humourous? Top tier. Does it hold all of my fruits? No. Does it hold a special place in my heart? Yes. 10/10 would wholeheartedly recommend

Fits a lot of fruit and veggies.
We had a wired one and the wire cut into some of the delicate fruit like pears and nectarines. This hammock doesn't do that even when they get a bit softer. We were afraid it wouldn't hold as much but it holds just as much as the wired and a bit more. It fits perfectly in the corner where our other one was and takes up no more space depth wise than the wired. It is a bit longer BUT works great when place at an angle to the corner. We love it!

Cheaply made.
If you are using this on a van, don’t bother. Lasted all of 2hours. Unfortunately I can’t return as I did not use it until after the return window closed.
