Wide enough for the adult hand and the rubber grip large enough diameter so as not to cut in. Strong spring snaps back. Plenty thick steel.

I wasn't sure I needed these but was glad to have them when I was at the end of my project. They look good and are cheap

Incorrect dimensions listed, but overall a good handle.

The dimensions listed are not accurate in any meaningful form: the 4.88" is (roughly) the width of the handle, and the 3.2" H is from the top of the rubber to the edge of the mount when laid flat. There's about 1.5" of clearance in the handle, but it's just a bit shy if you're planning to thread 2x4s through it. The hard rubber grip does not rotate, so shaving a bit off the inner side of the rubber might be easier than trimming down the wood. The mounting plate is 5.5" x 1-5/8" and 10-24 bolts fit nicely in the 5 mounting holes. The handle does NOT swing up to exactly 90 degrees, it's a bit less, so if you're planning to use this as a top handle, just keep that in mind. The mounting plate is about 0.1" thick. Drilling out the single rivet and replacing it with another mounting bolt/screw will definitely add some strength, but may not be worth the effort to wrangle with the spring. Overall, this is a great handle. it's really beefy and fairly well made. Seems sturdy enough to be abused a lot without failing. Just be aware that the dimensions as listed on the product page are not accurate.

but definitely good for what I bought it for

This was my second choice for a handle, but definitely good for what I bought it for. I was making a custom box for my performance setup, Keyboard, talkbox, voice transformer, laptop, sound interface, novation launchpad... it a lot of Stuff lol. Anyway going to practice and gigs would be easy if it was all in one box. I didn't trust myself with the recessed type so I gave this a go. In total my case and gear is about 60 lbs. My dumb self used 3/4" plywood in my defense I thought I was buying and paid for 1/2". Either way its built "tough". But thats a lot of weight for the handle to carry just being screwed into the wood. I actually bolted it down and It has held up with 0 problems. The picture I have is when I was almost done. I have since added the same type of handles on all sides. The quality is really good. The spring in the handle is nice, not too stiff and not too loose. I do with it came in a black in this style. I had to paint mine black and added a clear coat and they have held their color for 7 months. So far this case with handles has held up for over 8 months.
