Not the same

My husband loves this brand but has found this style tends to give him a wedgie, maybe that's just the style now

good shorts but...

I like these shorts the only issue is around the pocket height from the ground the shorts are a little narrow. The material is a good material for shorts and feels great. They are breathable and look pretty nice. The overall product experience is good but could be better. This gets 4 stars and I hope this helps someone.

Good shorts, somewhat long.

These are nice shorts. I like the material and the matte finish. It has a thick elastic waistband plus drawstring. Deep pockets on the side and one rear pocket with a zipper. Two-inch slits up the side with a lighter, reflective material add a little flare. On the outside, in the lower crotch area is a different type of material than the rest of the shorts. It's a mesh with perforations (see my picture). I'm sure that's supposed to add airflow, which is interesting, but it looks odd to me to have a different material there. I wouldn't want anyone to notice that. Luckily, it's very hard to see when you're standing or sitting. Regarding the fit, it's just a bit longer and baggier than I would like. I'm 5'11, got a medium, and it was down to my kneecaps. Most shorts nowadays are going for that slightly shorter look an inch or two above the kneecap. There remind me more of basketball shorts from 5 years back. No big deal. I will still wear them around the house or for exercise, but if you're looking for a more modern, trendier fit, these are probably a bit too big.

Little narrow

The shorts are very comfortable. The shorts are also lightweight and more casual. The rear pocket zipper isn't uncomfortable to sit on. My only complaint would be that the legs are a little narrow.

Look good on, but not very comfortable when moving around

These shorts aren’t the most comfortable to move around in but they look good on. These are dressed up gym shorts. My husband wears gym shorts to bed and around the house, all the time. He wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing these to bed or around the house. These might be good for going out when you need to look presentable, but not dressed up. The drawstring makes the stomach area comfortable. It’s just that the thigh area doesn’t have much give. You may want to order 1 size up. My husband is 6’2 and 190 pounds. He ordered the Large and may have been better off with XL or Large Tall.

Lightweight shorts - perfect for running or workout

These shorts are well made and the dark gray color I purchased provides a lot of versatility. While they will be ideal for workout/running (lightweight, breathable, reflective stripe on leg slit) they could also be suitable for other wear options as well. The sizing was just slightly tight for my husband. You might want to consider sizing up if you want a pair of shorts that allows more give, especially if using these for running/working out.

Comfortable relaxing/workout shorts in a "performance" material

These shorts have become an around-the-house staple for me. I found them to be pretty true to size - with a 38"ish waist, XL was a good fit for me and these are comfortable without being too restrictive. The elastic is just right and I don't find I need to bother cinching or tightening the waistband tie, so if you're looking for a looser fit, you may want to size up, but for me I like the way these fit. The length on these is ever so slightly longer than I might prefer - they hit me at roughly knee height. They are slightly shorter than the most baggy basketball shorts I've ever owned, but they're definitely not short or fitted. The material for these is a "performance" fabric - it's relatively rough, rigid, and moisture-repellent. These aren't soft shorts - they're intended for workout - but I do find them comfortable against my skin and for relaxing. You'll definitely want to pair them with underwear, though. The design is blissfully simple and free of tacky elements. There is a small reflective tab on the cutout on the left and right sides that catches light if you're running in the evening, a zippered back pocket, and a side pocket on each side that's deep enough for an iPhone 13 Pro Max. No ostentatious logos, which is greatly appreciated - just a small, subtle Russell rubber logo cutout affixed to the leg in the exact same color as the shorts themselves. There's a slightly contrasting panel in the bottom groin area for more stretch when you move, but it isn't noticeable in normal wear, and I feel it contributes positively to the comfort of the shorts. I wasn't particularly blown away by any one element of these when I took them out of the package - they're well constructed, but very standard workout shorts - but that's part of the charm. I quickly found myself reaching for them every morning before my first morning meeting, and I think they'll become a travel staple for workout and relaxation, too. Sometimes, no nonsense is exactly what you're looking for, and I found these to be way more comfortable than a pair of Fabletics shorts that cost twice the price.
